I believe he is trying to expand the map.

For real - I read he is down 2,500 votes. Hasn't been called, so he won't concede (I don't blame him b/c it is crazy close). He is going to drag it out. I imagine recounts, court battles, etc. We wont know anything for a few weeks I think.

They put Romney and Brown into office without really vetting them either. I was there for that entire Romney #*^% show.

MA seems to have gotten over the Republican governor thing, judging by Deval Patrick's approval ratings. Romney finished with disastrously poor approval, and it wasn't merely due to his party affiliation.

The idea that it's only about the initial next to your name in MA is quick, easy, and wrong.

Claire McCaskill is the luckiest politician in American history.

I'd agree with you, except that Democrats spent 1.5 million dollars helping Akin win his primary (which most didn't give him a chance in initially). McCaskill's team was probably involved in that, I'd imagine.

It was politically shrewd, not lucky... he had a history before his rape comments of saying outrageous things, like comparing student loans to stage 4 cancer, I believe.

So how do you explain Teds repeated success at re-election? Or even Warrens victory. They liked their politics so they were willing to overlook character. It is what it is. Both parties do it (But undeniably Democrats do it more).

Warren said in at least 2 of the debates with Brown that she never used her heritage to her advantage.

Scott Brown losing will hurt chances to reach compromise. Warren will be a liberal stalwart.

Brown would have provided an avenue for both sides to talk and work together.

I'll trust SHF and not ask him to divulge.

You could say the same thing about Claire McCaskill, Joe Donnelly, Jon Tester, Bill Nelson, and Tim Kaine. The country elected many moderate Democrats that will provide an avenue for both sides to talk and work together. We're certainly more likely to forge bipartisanship with McCaksill and Donnelly in the Senate rather than Akin and Mourdock.
