Why does Reed get thrown under the bus here. He has been, BY FAR, the best of the entire crop of safeties. Yeah, he bungled a look against the Falcons trying to disguise the defense, but come on. The Falcons are undefeated.

A 3-4 defense is only successful when you pressure a QB. Watch the Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Houston, Green Bay, New England, NYJ. When they don't get pressure, their back end is exposed. When they get pressure, they are a carnivorous defense that just sits on the short stuff because they know the QB doesn't have time to set up. But when the pressure doesn't get home, and the QB has time to set up, they get torched.

Haslett will be a has-been at the end of the year ( I wish sooner). I cant wait until the freddy kruger look alike is gone. I cringe when are defense is on the field, which is really sad.

Yo, Haslett, just because the Bengals never utilized a passing play out of their wildcat formation doesn't mean that someone they'd never pass out of that formation, especially with a receiver with throwing experience.
Yo, Haslett, wasn't it Brian Schottenheimer or someone who said that they had an answer to everyone you'd throw at them, and they were proven right as evidenced by Danny Amendola's monstrously good day.

Yeah, totally just the players. WRONG. Yes, Maddy Williams, Dejon Gomes, and Reed Doughty can cover to save their lives and they are nicked up a little, but you are hardly putting them in the best position to succeed.

Thread title should be changed to Haslett says "I come to work, I work hard, I do the best I can with what we got.."

Aside from that, it's clear the team is rapidly dissolving mentally. In regards to discipline and skill/performance, well that's been gone for quite some time. The writing may be on the wall for Haslett, but I do believe that as a whole we stink from top to bottom. Just the thought of this guy makes me want to stomp on flowers:

FS, MLB?, RT?, SS, TE, CB.

At this point, EVEN if the remote possibility of Haslett's claims are true, this defense is damaged goods with him at the helm. If the players aren't buying in, and if the coaches can't trust the players, things will only get worse from here on out. What a disaster.

    **** him...seriously **** this clown

These are the words of someone who has realized that they 110% fail at their job. Yeah the players blow too but it's his job to get the MOST out of everyone of his guys.

Add Raheem Morris to that list.

I don't disagree that the "talent" on the defense is straight up doo-doo. But Haz needs to take a better approach with the media. Throwing the guys (even if they do suck) under the bus isn't cool.

Is the defense missing Spanos? I was hoping he would stay and be DC at some point.
I take back all the bad things I said about Kirk Cousins

Haslett's trying to make chicken salad out of you-know-what and failing miserably, but without a talent infusion or simply guys coming back from injury, I don't care who's calling the signals, it's gonna be rough.
Not necessarily a change in scheme, but the voice it comes from. If you go to work everyday and hate anything that comes out of your bosses mouth, how can you be productive? Just getting a different voice and viewpoint may help. I was in that situation up until a year ago. I found a new job and now I'm happy.

Here, here. Can his ass today! And I'm not usually one of those guys jumping up and down saying, "fire this guy, cut that guy." It's time. It's time for him to go.
