Ah, the ol' "Take the ball and go home" tactic.

Nevermind that most of these states receive more from the the Federal government than they pay.

Or that interstate trade is a vital part of life today, and all it would take to pretty much kill any of these states would be to ban trade to them.

It's almost like people are reacting irrationally to something and not thinking through the consequences.

And of course, anytime Georgia gets uppity zombie Sherman gets in on the action.

The soldiers gave three cheers as they urged their tired horses north across the uneven hills. Some of the mounts, exhausted after a week of almost continual marching, began to lag behind; others, spurred on by their enthusiastic riders, began to edge past the regiment's commander. "Boys, hold your horses," Custer cautioned; "there are plenty of them down there for us all."

    Thats great.

Also, honestly: Sherman is probably the most serious looking dude in history. I've never seen a picture of him that even gives me the idea that he has had any inclination or desire to smile.

Wow this thread is almost as sad as these petitions. More divide and conquer from the north, huh, even though there are northern states involved? Do Virginians only rep the south when t is convenient? What about people that wanted to secede when Bush was in power? Are yall satisfied with the country? Does it really matter if it is Bush or Obama at this point?

Wait what? "More divide and conquer from the north?"

No states are involved. That's the entire poin
Idiots and whining little bitches are involved. Amounts to about 25k per state. A fraction of a percentage.

    Hence, the comments

The state of irrationality is involved. As is the state of delusion. And the state of idiocy.

Interesting dynamic. New U.S. gets that texas oil, florida beaches, and some good car plants, while the old U.S. gets Hollywood, Silicon Valley, West Virginia coal, and Vermont maple syrup.
Hmmmm an awful lot of states that receive more in Federal funding than they contribute.

That's cause he's a badass. The guy pretty much ended the Civil War.

I think one thing is certain, when it comes to figuring out who we are going to deny voting rights to in Obama's 2016 America we'll just start with the names on these petitions.

Here's what we can do. Allow Texas and say Oklahoma leave the country to become the new nation of Texasohama. Those who want to leave the U.S. can move into this new nation and those in those 2 former states who want to remain as part of the U.S. can then be relocated elsewhere in the U.S.- the full cost of relocation paid by the new nation.

California is split into 2 to get us back to 49 states and then Puerto Rico becomes the new 50th state.

Austinites ask to stay part of America!

Peacefully grant the city of Austin Texas to withdraw from the state of Texas & remain part of the United States.
