IIRC, wasn't he part of some bipartisan group that was trying to put together some deal for something? Can't remember the details but I'm pretty sure he was working on something.
Warner is one of the leaders of the "Gang of Six" that have been working on a budget deal.

He also was a co-sponsor of an immigration bill with Marco Rubio and others: http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2...ighly-skilled/

It has just been hard to actually do anything across the aisle the past few years, so even though Warner has been making efforts, there haven't been too many real results just yet.

If he can play a part in getting the fiscal cliff resolved, I think that Warner might have something to contribute in the Senate. If it all devolves into partisan nonsense, then I think it might make sense for Warner to get out and return to Richmond.

Ugh, Terry McAuliffe... I really couldn't stand him when he was working for Hillary. He was a walking BS factory during the entire primary campaign against Obama. I hope someone else steps up on the Democratic side.
