And you deserve to be punched in the face until you pass out.
Excellent. A nice, "Thanks for working today so you can enable my consumerism." would suffice.

I don't even blame Wal mart or Target for opening on Thanksiving. Just you.
We complain that there isn't enough work out there, then we complain that people have to work! If you work at Macy's and don't like having to work on Thanksgiving (which would probably only occur if you're a manager or low on the totem pole), then find another profession or stop complaining.

Yeah, I hope the bill was under $100 if you consider $20 a good "Thanksgiving" tip...

Actually my father-in-law picked up the tab and I was guessing about the tip. He's pretty generous with his tips.

It's funny when the conservatives start beating their chest about lazy Americans complaining about having to work on a holiday and in the next breath complaining about the erosion of family, traditions, and values in this country.

Remember, you are "conservatives" because you feel things should stay the way they've always been.

Thansgiving is pretty cool when you think about it. The average person eats so much food they can't move, watch a ton of football, get great deals on crap they don't need (whether at the store or on-line), and when all that's done, they reflect on how thankful theyare to be able to experience all that.

I went to a 9pm movie last night... I figured everyone had gotten to spend time with their families before having to sell me tickets and popcorn for a ****ty movie.

I'm already the person least likely to go shopping but damn, Black Friday is something I will never, ever take part of or wake up early to waste a few hours of my life. I don't care what deals are out there. With the Internet offering deals anyhow I really don't understand the appeal but there are tons of sheep out there.

My roommate and I, not thinking, swung by Target after the movie to pick up a dvd to watch... Big mistake. We forgot stores opened at 8 and Target was a COMPLETE CLUSTER****. The checkout like was literally about 200-250 yards long. The Target guy said the wait to check out was about 1.5-2 hours. Needless to say, we got the hell out of there and purchased a movie on DirectTV

That was the first Black Friday experience of my life...and definitely the last.

What about all those wonderful people who go out to eat? Bartenders & waiters usually work most if not all Holidays

Should we also cancel the Parades and football games that are being shown while you sit on your couch and stuff your face...those guys have families too. How about shutting down hospitals and fire department while we are at it.

If you don't want to work on holidays, then find a job that is closed on holidays. I work in Retail. I knew that when I took the job that I would be working every other weekend, that we were open most holidays and I would have to rotate through them. I still took the job because the benefits out weighed those things. I have a family and 3 year old and spend lots of time with them. I dont need one designated day that I have to call a "Family Day".
