Luck inherited a 2-14 team though. That balances out the strength of schedule argument.

It is when you consider his team was down 33-21 late in the 4th quarter and he led them to a win. Btw, he also had 391 yards passing..

the year before they were 10-6 and in the playoffs. redskins haven't been a playoff team in 5 years, and even then, well, just making the playoffs was the stuff of legend. the colts are perennial playoff contenders.

    Not really.

With the exception of the Texans, the AFC South is a huge pile of flaming dog ****.

The Colts tanked the season last year so they could draft Luck, don't let the 2-14 record fool you.

They were 10-6 the year before with Peyton Manning.

The Colts tanked the season, huh. Is that why they beat the Texans the second to last week of the season?

Obviously not a contender, but that rookie RB in Philly is looking damn, damn, damn good so far. Really explosive and shifty.
Eli Manning will be 31 years old when the 2012 season starts.
Michael Vick will be 32 years old when the 2012 season starts.
Tony Romo will be 32 years old when the 2012 season starts.
ROBERT GRIFFIN III will be 22 years old when the 2012 season starts.

they were 1-13 when the beat the Texans in 2011. They had already clinched the top pick.

    I'm pretty sure that's incorrect.

That Colts team was nowhere near as bad as people make them out to be last year - they were in 9 games in the 4th quarter last year that they ended up losing. Not many teams win in the 4th quarter without a QB

Their wins this year haven't been very impressive either.

Who have they beat? GB? Minny? (both of who are on the bubble of making the playoffs)

They lost, very convincibly, to the only 2 teams on their schedule and they have gone over 23 points twice this year.

Nothing against Luck, he's been impressive at times, but people are making this season for him out to him being a savior - IMO, the Colts had the better team last year (they just lost a lot of close games and had no QB whatsoever) - hell, give them Rex last year and they aren't picking Luck or RG3

No it's not. They were trailing largely because of his that inefficiency. He was clutch but if he played an even game he might have not had to be

    2012 Colts = 2011 Bengals

Overachieving on a weak schedule. They were NOT the worst team in football last year, even without Peyton they're at least a below average team. But I do feel there were shady dealings going on with their front office to secure that #1 overall pick. Which is why I fully support a draft lottery to avoid such things, but that's another argument.

I fail to see how one player, a rookie mind you, can turn a 2-14 team into a playoff team when he has almost just as many total turnovers(21) as he has total touchdowns(22). Anyone that thinks that's a one man show is delusional. I can't think of any team that continues winning games when their QB is turning the ball over just as much as he's scoring.

Dude, please. They were 2-14. They were every bit as bad as their record. They were awful. That's why every analyst after the draft was saying that Griffin was going to a better situation. We had the 13th ranked D last year, plus we had better weapons on offense. Reggie Wayne was pretty much the only good offensive player Luck inherited. And, btw, Wayne was terrible last year without Peyton. So Luck should get a lot of credit for the season Wayne is having.

And does it really matter if the Colts' wins this year were in dominating fashion? Again, they were 2-14 last year. They are 8-4 right now. That's astounding. And it's because of one guy...Luck. Give the man credit.

And you don't have a good argument when you are saying Green Bay isn't a good win. Come on. The Packers went 15-1 last year lol. And he led them from behind in that game, too, btw. He has more 4th quarter or OT wins this year than ANY qb, if I'm not mistaken. And it matters not how many points they score. The object is to win the game. They went from picking #1 in the draft to currently in a wildcard spot.

And I'm not making him out to be a savior, HE is making himself out to be a savior.

Why do you and others feel the need to knock down Luck? He and Griffin are BOTH having amazing rookie seasons. You don't lose any fan points for giving Luck the credit he so much deserves.

thank you bubble....it seems like a sin to praise Luck in any fashion on this board.

Literally everything positive he does is nitpicked.

Also, it's the same with Colts fans and the media as well.

No one is capable of just saying they are both elite without a "but" afterwards

He may not have played good the entire game, but the bottom line is he is clutch when it matters most. He led them back from 33-21 in the 4th quarter on the road. You rarely see a rookie achieve that.

when did this board become a conspiracy theorist haven?

You honestly believe they cheated to get the 1st pick?
