Shows what they know about football. In their mind, Luck throwing 2-3 picks a game is normal.

Really sucks being on the west coast, sometimes. This is like the 3rd time RG3 has won it over someone else more deserving. (Usually Wilson.) Not taking anything away from RG3, but if he was playing for, say, Oakland...he'd have like two of these, instead of seven.

These are Pro Football Focus's ratings for each QB by week.

I'm not surprised just based on the fact that he is a qb for a major division rival of theirs. Romo doesn't exactly get a positive spin to side of the interwebs either.

I laughed pretty hard. It's true, the people pulling for Luck generally have to break out arguments that only make sense if you contort logic and ignore context.

I've seen people mention that he's got 7 come from behind wins, and therefore deserves the RoY Award. They never mention it's his mistakes in quarters 1-3 that force him to come from behind.

Or the fact that RG3 has 7 come from behinds as well.

Lol, those Colts fans on that board. "Luck is way better than RG3, he threw for more yards and played every game so he deserves pro bowl honors more!" Matt Stafford threw for the 2nd most yards in the league, surprised Colts fans aren't riled at him missing out. It's just mindblowing that they are literally stuck on one stat. You can point out 8 major stats where RG3 has outplayed Luck and they will time and again go right back to total passing yards as the definitive stat for qb's.

I think the most telling thing is when coaches talk about facing these 3 teams. For Indy you hear them talk about their heart because of their coach, for Seattle they talk about their defense and how hard it is to play in seattle, but for us they talk about how impossible RG3 is to stop. Opposing coaches only want to talk about RG3 when they talk about us, the same can not be said for the other two teams; and I respect what coaches focus on because they're the ones who know their stuff.

If I'm not mistaken it's all based on fan voting and I put in A LOT of votes.

Only 1 other rookie QB has ever been selected to the original Pro Bowl roster, Dan Marino in 1983. Eric Dickerson ended up winning the OROY in 1983. However, the OROY award was not the only award. There was the NFL rookie of the year award presented by different news agencies. In 1983 Marino split it with Dickerson because 2 groups had it going to Dickerson and 1 to Marino. Sporting News still has theirs but the others stopped. The UPI also had AFC and NFC rookies of the year through 1996.

The AP OROY award is based on 50 voters that the AP selects. They each only get 1 vote unlike the Heisman where they can select 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

Bottom line is that the Pro Bowl selection was a far bigger accomplishment since it is only the second time in history it has ever been accomplished by a rookie QB. Also, since 2/3 of the voting is based on NFL players and NFL coaches voting, it is far more relevant than a skewed system setup by AP.

The other problem with AP's system is that the same voters who vote for OROY also vote for NFL MVP. Since each of the 50 voters only gets a single vote in each category, it unfairly disadvantages rookies from getting MVP votes because a voter is probably very unlikely to cast his only 2 votes for the same name.

Here is an article from last year from Florio discussing the flaws:

RG3 took a pro bowl spot from Drew Brees. What more can you ask for from a rookie?

The Redskins have trailed in every single game they have won aside from the first Eagles game. So 8 games they've trailed, they've won. Griffin's started 7 of those.

I think he meant "7 games in which we trailed at some point but ended up winning" as opposed to "4th quarter comebacks." I think he's only had 2 Q4 comebacks: TB & 2nd NYG (Garcon's go-ahead TD was in the 4th). That said, RG3 has been very clutch, leading game-icing drives vs NO, MIN, @DAL, a would-be Q4 comeback @NYG, and getting us in the red zone vs Bmore, putting Cousins in good position to finish the drive.
