Congrats to RG3!
Angry comments on the Seahawks forum is getting stupid. They clearly haven't watched RG3 this season and haven't watched their Wilson in the first half of the season.
Let's go Hokies!
Congrats to RGIII !
Congrats to all of us on ES !
We have a memorable season and witnessing the beginning of an era. HTTR.
Yeah.....baby...
Just get better Robert! I already miss seeing you play!
RG3
Rookie of the year is for the entire season not the last half of the year. Griffin was strong from week 1 and never looked back including being the only rookie QB to lead his team to a division title. He was truly the deserving winner of this award.
Seahawks fans are saying stuff like Wilson was much better than Griffin the last half of the year etc, but Griffin was hurt through a decent chunk of that stretch. The games he wasn't hurt? Philly, Dallas and Giants and Ravens and those were dominant performances really.
If he hadn't been hurt at the end of the Ravens game the race would have been even more of a landslide. Seattle is a joke.
Anyway, congrats to Robert and I can't wait to see him back at full speed picking up where he left off.
Congrats to RGIII on the well deserved award. What impressed me most was the margin of "victory" that RGIII had over the other two. Look, all 3 are going to be great fun to watch in the future....the changing of the QB guard in the NFL is well underway once you include last season's QB class as well.
As to what other fans are saying...I really don't care. Think if Luck or Wilson would have won the award, I would have read some similiar smarmy comments on Redskins websites as well about those two. That is the nature of fandom......
Inexcusable that it took me too long to chime in in this thread but better late than never, right?
Congrats RGIII on the 2012 Rookie of the Year! We all know this is but a first step in the journey to return this franchise to it's winning ways! Also a shout out to Mighty Mo' who was in contention too!

Because that's what they do best. Ask any Steelers fan.
There's just an official AP OROY (RGIII) and a DROY (Denver's LB Von Miller), along with MVP (Adrian Peterson).

Congrats to RGIII!

Seahawks main argument is now solely "Wilson got farther in the playoffs" As if they somehow failed to watch the game itself and see how it unfolded.
RGIII was the most consistent rookie QB in the league in 2012. His peaks were the highest, and his valleys were barely considered valleys.

Yes, the AP award is considered the official one. It is voted on by sportswriters. There are also less prestigious versions handed out by various media outlets: Sporting News hands one out that is voted on by NFL players, coaches, and executives; PFW (Pro Football Weekly) gives one that is voted on the members of the Pro Football Writers of America. The Pepsi one is voted on by the fans via the internet (the only one anyone but Griffin managed to corral).
Fantastic! Congratulations Robert and Alfred. What rookie years. Robert, congratulations on bringing home ROY! Well deserved. Heal up and get better. Alfred, rest up as well.
I am so happy Griffin won! I will say that I really thought this was a 3 way race between Griffin, Wilson, and Morris (or should have been). Wilson is a great QB, and I can't take anything away from the kid, but obviously I'm biased and believe Griffin had this in the bag and absolutely deserved to win (though, If Wilson had won it I would have been ok with it). What I can't understand for the life of me is how Luck got more votes that Wilson? I know he only got a few more votes, but IMO, Luck isn't even in the same class as Griffin and Wilson. That's a little mind boggling to me.
