So, my internal hard drive is dying.. it has 'exceeded a parameter" and failure is imminent.
About a month ago I was doing some disk cleanup and while it was deleting about 5GB of files, my power blinked and it went off.
Since then, I get the error message.
I had a battery backup on it, but apparently, the battery was dead. (nice purple stain beneath it on my floor.)
So, I'm looking around at hard drives, but i don't know what to buy.
I use a dell inspiron.
I saw some nice drives by seagate on newegg. com.. but the reviews are all over the place.. some say it's good, others say it's the worst.. i have no idea if the manufacturer or the competition wrote these anonymous reviews..
I don't want to buy a piece of crap, and i am paralyzed by not wanting to buy the wrong thing.
I run my business on this machine and can't afford to make mistakes that will keep me out of commission for even a little bit of time.
Any suggestions as to a quality reliable drive (and a battery backup?)
