What's your pick for the best action movie of all time?
No polls, just a debate.
I'm thinking Terminator 2 definitely has to be in the top 3-5. Die Hard. The Dark Knight.

I thought the first Matrix was an outstanding action movie. Best all time though I'm not sure. It's up there though

Some of the mounts, exhausted after a week of almost continual marching, began to lag behind; others, spurred on by their enthusiastic riders, began to edge past the regiment's commander. "Boys, hold your horses," Custer cautioned; "there are plenty of them down there for us all."

I watched the Matrix the other day and thought, damn these graphics look lame and cheesy. But, in 1999, it looked amazing.

Terminator 2 easy. My favorite movie of all time.

I would say Raiders of the Lost Ark, especially since it's my second favorite film of all time, but it's obviously an adventure movie. But then there is the Action/Adventure genre at video stores...at least it used to be, you know, back when there were video stores, and back when they were commonly referred to as videos because that was the format they were made with. Anyway if we're not accepting Raiders then I'm going to go with Robocop. Mainly, this is because of the scene where the robot shoots that guy like 50,000 times. They just don't put stuff like that in movies these days...at least not as frequently.

That movie was a total gamechanger.

The Empire Strikes Back. But that might be more of a fantasy than action movie.

I would also add Top Gun, Speed, RoboCop, Leathal Weapon and True Lies.
Too bad there isn't a penalty for excessive underachievement. The Cowboys would be flagged. (Clayton)
