Well, if the Packers lose, and it's looking that way, it makes next week all the more important. If we lose we're 5-7, with the Giants 8-4 and almost certainly out of reach of the division title. We could still try for 9-7 and a wildcard, but I think that's a long shot. Whoever of Green Bay and Chicago that doesn't win the North is taking the first wildcard, and all four of Minn, TB, NO, and Seattle would have to fail to hit 10-6.

With them all dropping games today that certainly helps, but I feel like there's a good chance of one of them running the table near the end and going 10-6.

Alternatively, if we win, Giants are 7-5, we're 6-6, and we own the tiebreakers. It becomes a game of chicken when if the Giants lose we win take over the division, provided we keep winning.

Long story short, even if the Giants win tonight, if we win out we're still in good shape. If we beat the Giants but drop a different game, we're in slightly better shape, but still a huge long shot.

Packers losing really changes nothing especially since we just gained a game on the wild card 6 today. We HAVE to win all NFC games which are division and at least one between Baltimore and Cleveland. 9-7 that way will get us in by NFC East title or wild card 6. Giants game is pretty much the season. If cant win that game we won't make it.

I'm tempering playoff hopes but like I've said before, just being in the convo is a welcome change

It appears the Giants win easily tonight. Our season rests on our Giants game. We win, we stay alive and still have a lot if work to do. We lose and although mathematically possible, realistically we have no playoff hopes. Ravens game can be lost, if we beat the Giants. Philly is bad, but a divisional game and Dallas doubtful gets down by 25 early again. We have to win the Giants game and 3 of the final 4 to have a shot.

It's really, really simple. If we beat the Giants, we will be in the thick of both the division and wild card races. If we lose, we will basically be out of the division race... We'd be alive in the wild card still, but our odds would take a major hit

Gee I wonder if we'll get some of those ghost penalties called on crucial plays on Monday night...

The silver lining here....had the Giants lost, they would have come to DC totally desperate for a win... And under Coughlin the Giants have played very well when desperate. Now, this game means more to us than it does to them... They might be a bit more relaxed and although they will say all of the right things, they might overlook our game a bit... It's human nature.

I really hope Seattle can drop enough games where they're not in the mix at the end for that last WC spot, as they have a game in their W column that absolutely shouldn't be there.

Well, looks like they may be losing both of their top 2 CBs soon due to testing positive for PEDs...

Agreed. We started the year 3-6 and have had 7-8 contributors lost for significant time this year. The fact that we are playing a meaningful game in December is exciting. Playoffs or not, getting 7-8 wins would be a big step forward for this regime.
"Washington strolled to the NFC championship, outscoring their two playoff opponents by a combined total of 48 points. Their domination was more than impressive, it was historic. The 1991 Redskins boasted the largest average margin of victory among all Super Bowl champions."

9-7 will be good enough to take the last Wild Card spot.
