Default The difference in #10 Defense and the one we have now?

Think back to when this defense made the jump to #10-13 ranking. What is the only difference? Most will not want to acknowledge this. LaRon Landry. Would a safety core of Brandon Meriweather, LaRon Landry, Tanard Jackson and Jordan Berstein have made a difference?

Landry? No. There is a reason why the Skins didn't re-sign him. He can't cover and always looking for the big hit.

Exactly! Brady used him like a dirty dish rag. Pass on LL. He would have been great with Sean Taylor cause Taylor could cover sideline to sideline which would allow LL to just run to the ball, blitz and kill people. When he has to be disciplined he's pretty much useless out there. Plus, his body breaks down cause his joints aren't made to handle that much muscle mass. You gotta know that if the NFL can figure out how to test HGH he'd be the first one suspended.

The biggest difference is those defensive teams stayed healthy. We have been decimated on that side of the ball this season.

The reason we didn't resign him is because he wouldn't have surgery. He was better at covering than anyone we have on the current roster. Meriweather and Jackson may have been able to excel at the positions, but there is no one else on the roster that could. C'mon we're talking Reed Doughty here. And as for those teams staying healthy, they had LL for at least parts of those seasons. He and Atogwe leaving at the same time was not a good decision.

The subject didn't show in the search about the difference in the defense. If I missed something, close the thread.

    Landry???

I thought you were going to bring it. The reason we don't have a top 10 D is because of playcalling and, more importantly, injuries.

Landry played in all or part of eight games for us in 2011, and all or part of nine games for us in 2010. We were ranked (by total yards) #31 in 2010 and #13 in 2011. If Landry is going to somehow get credit for improving our defense 15 ranks by playing half a season last year, then he gets equal credit for our defense sucking ass in 2010 despite only playing half a season.

By the way, remember when everyone thought he had turned a corner, was getting 10 tackles a game and causing fear over the middle, then got hurt? Yeah, that was in 2010 when we finished #31. Not only do I not want to acknowledge your point, I think it's flat wrong.

He did...in the sense that he played less, and was therefore out of the way.

Landry may of had a point about our training staff.

    This.

If you would have said Carlos Rogers and Landry leaving, I would have gave you a little bit of props, but not just Landry.

For the love of God. Will the Landry lovers please change your allegiance to the Jets? Did you not see the back of Landry's jersey against the Patriots? Do you even know what that means? One thing I've learned is when a fan gets fixated on one player they usually have a low football IQ.

    Wait!

    We have a 'defense?'

What is this weird and novel thing you speak of? Sounds like the Devils work to me .....

    Hail.
