Victor Cruz "Skins are not yet contenders"

I read that whole interview and you guys took the ONE piece you wanted to and ran with it. He also said you guys are a good team and should be in the conversation...what in hell is wrong with that?

Don't bother. The rational fans that read the entire interview know what he said, and he didn't say anything that bad. There are some people who think the entire league and Mara are out to pushing the redskins back to the stone age. They cannot be reasoned with.

If I had the time i'd love to find all the posters bitching about Cruz's comments, search their posts here, and find all the bad things they've said about the team this season...

Wrong..i never actually gave a prediction but last nights game was going to be a very tough win and it proved to be. never felt an ounce of confidence in the Giants bucking the trend and actually winning a game without their backs to the wall.

WHY I never read Giants message boards...

I mean its great to go after a guy for calling a player or team out but for the life of me I don't see it here. This was a fanbase very eager to pounce...all good you guys did what you had to do.

We swept them on their way to becoming World Champions. Last night we beat them while they're the defending World Champions.

"They're still a couple pieces away from actually being a contender, them being in legitimate talks for playoffs and things like that," Cruz said on a conference call Wednesday via the Star-Ledger. "They're still a few pieces away whether it be defensively or wherever they are missing some pieces. But I think they've definitely -- they've got to be in the conversation. They've got a good team, they play good football, they hold the ball for a long time, and they really do some good things. So I definitely put them in that conversation, for sure."

Is that not his full response? I understand exactly what he was asked, and I understand exactly what he said, and according to the standings right now, both for the division and a wild card berth, I'd say he's dead wrong. We are definitely in contention, for both.

Speaking for myself, that's been my entire stance in all of this. I don't want to see the guy burn in hell or anything like that, but I definitely have a problem with what he said, and even more of a problem when I see people saying that other fans shouldn't have a problem with what he said, as if there was any concrete truth in any of it.

If we were mathematically eliminated, or even pretty much dead (like 3 games out of the WC) then I'd have had no problem with what he said, but when my team has a very good chance of reaching the playoffs, and a chance to win the division, hopefully you'd understand why some people would be a little "miffed," to say the least, and wouldn't want to hear **** from an opposing player who says that despite all of that, we're still a "few pieces away," which (feel free to correct me if you think I'm wrong) essentially says that in his opinion, we aren't worthy of a spot, regardless of whether or not that was his intent.
