According to polling results published in Sports Illustrated in February 2002:
    - Although most Native American activists and tribal leaders consider Indian team names and mascots offensive, neither Native Americans in general nor a cross section of U.S. sports fans agree. According to the article, "There is a near total disconnect between Indian activists and the Native American population on this issue."
In 2004, a poll by the Annenberg Public Policy Center at the University of Pennsylvania essentially confirmed the Sports Illustrated poll's findings, concluding that 91% of the American Indians surveyed in the 48 states on the mainland USA found the name "Redskins" acceptable.

I say we give Robert a rest this game & start Sexy Rexy. He has more weapons to work with against the Ginas than he did last year. RG3 is in every Ginas head from the owner all the way down to their fair weather fans. It'd be awesome to run the score up on them with our 3rd stringer.

Choose who you want to beat you becasue one of them will.

You are right when you say the running game is opening the pass, but it is also Griffins ridiculous play action motions that lull the defense in and also creates openings. The fake is just carried out so well.

Finally, i hope Locklear is playing. He played well so far, but i think we can scheme a little better this time against him. But that is probably putting faith where it doesnt belong, I.E Haslett.
I forgot about that play action fakestuff. Never seen anyone doo it better, its insane. Against Dallas I was laughing a few times, i am watching the running back and RG still had the ball. A couple times it was hard to tell what the hell was going on.

Please do it....! haha.... That spread would go from 2.5 to 12.5. You seem to have forgotten that last year you had a defense...not so much this year.

Eli has historicaly bad stats against us. Granted he's 11-5 vs us, he has thrown 13 TDs and 16 ints and has just 2 TD's and 8 ints in the last 5 games. Even this year he threw 2 pics to us. And our D stinks. We have him figured out, usually the game comes down to other factors, not Eli.

I didn't say anything about Eli... I agree.. He does not have good games against Washington.

Most words has two meanings and I'm sure the negative meaning outweighs the positive.

    Silly.

And your comparison makes no sense, since the folks using the "...n-word in rap music..." is the offended party themselves.

Go ask the black rappers why they are using a word that is offensive to their race.
I was comparing rappers making a profit saying the n-word to Native Americans making a profit selling items with the Redskins logo or our team name. Both words are offensive either way.

Offensive to whom? Are you Native American? I think it has been shown many times over that the overwhelming majority of Native Americans aren't offended by it. So, it must be that people have been conditioned to be offended by things that would normally seem offensive... but aren't.

And just because one person or a subset of a certain demographic group doesn't like something doesn't mean it's offensive. Should we be offended by the Giants' name because there are extremely tall people or those with Gigantism? I think not... because we probably aren't one of those people and we should let them speak for themselves.

You sure it's 91%??? I read 32% thought teams should stop using Indian names and logos.

I did too at one time, but their cockiness has reached that of the 80's Cowboys, which was nothing short of obnoxious. They shoot off at their mouth then cry for respect, something they deserved to lose. They deserve their ass whipped and may they get that, humbled, embarrassed and beat down in Washington in front of all of America come Monday Night.

One thing I said before we drafted him is I thought his "play action fake" was the best coming out of college and I even said his fake was on par with Peyton Mannings. That is a real strength with his game because if you can't sell the fake, the play won't work.

In all honesty though, they can rip us any way they want, the fact of the matter is, the past decade I never heard columnist say a word about our team name, but this year all of a sudden Ive seen a couple.
Bill Plaschke talks about it all the time on ATH. If he is on there this Tuesday I'm sure he will speak on it on it once again.
