GEORGIA AVENUE.
I love a ton of cable shows. Cable shows are where it's at. Right now I'm watching "The Walking Dead", "Sons of Anarchy", "Dexter", and "Boardwalk Empire". It's hard for me to pick the best because there are so many good shows. There were some underrated cable shows that I thought were awesome, but I don't see get talked about a lot, like the HBO show "Carnivale".

24 and LOST are network television shows....
my bad.
Any love for Deadwood? I always liked Curb your Enthusiasm as well. And not that it'll ever be nominated for any awards, but Eastbound & Down was a fun show.
GEORGIA AVENUE.
The best series currently on is Breaking Bad. Followed closely by Walking dead, Mad Men and Homeland.
Of all time, I would say Sopranos, though I picked Breaking Bad b/c I didnt see Sopranos.
Never seen the Wire so, I cant comment but I have never heard one person quote the Wire and have heard a million people reference Sopranos.
coolest room ever
I didn't see Sopranos. The title of thread made me assume it was current shows, and I immediately went for Breaking Bad. I hear the Wire was amazing, so I'll watch it eventually. Had I known it was all time and seen the option, I likely would have gone with Sopranos.
Thread title should be "best cable tv series ever."

For me it is The Wire followed kinda closely by Breaking Bad. Deadwood is a distant third.
For me, it's a toss up between Boardwalk Empire, Game of Thrones and Homeland, all for different reasons. I gave my nod to Game of Thrones because they had to create a fantasy land, populate it with believable characters and make viewers get lost in the story. I like Boardwalk Empire for the character acting and the writing, and Homeland because it could happen in real life now. Homeland isn't in the poll, however, it should be.

Ugh definitely tough. I'm going with Sopranos but the Wire, and Breaking Bad are a close 1b and 1c. I'm just in season 5 of BB and it's beyond ridiculous. I've had to stop myself from saying "oh ****" about 100x on the metro.
The wire was legendary. Omar ... amazing. But Sopranos ... just a touch above the rest.
Hail Skins .... whether we win or lose ... I have faith in this team.

Breaking Bad gets my vote
The Wire is easily the best of all-time IMHO and TV has quickly eclipsed film as my favorite medium.
Too hard for me to choose between what's left but I'm a huge fan of all of these shows:
Sopranos
Breaking Bad
Mad Men
Game of Thrones
Sons of Anarchy is also pretty good
Dexter has been awful for years and Homeland quickly went from amazing to annoying. Showtime series tend to feel like network series with more mature content - if that makes any sense.
