So much misinformation about the appeal.

The Seattle suspensions were leaked. They are never supposed to see the light of day until AFTER the appeal. That's to protect the players. You really think that the NFLPA is going to let a preliminary result cost a player millions of dollars or even a career based on a false positive?

Griffin already has had his appeal. He lost. He's a selfish ass.

Unfortunately it appears that others in this thread didn't read this and still believe the seahawk player's situation and Griffin's situation are the same and somehow the Redskins are being shafted. If Griffen did appeal, my guess is that he got caught prior to the Seahawks players getting caught. I hate Mara as much as the next guy, but this doesn't appear to have his dirty hands in it, at least at this point.

PEDs could be used for a myriad of performance enhancements... short bursts of speed/strength being one of them... sprinters are more likely to use them than distance runners... unless they blood dope with EPO...

Distance sports have overwhelmingly embraced PED's more than sprinters el al., with EPO as you mentioned as the testing has barely begun to catch up. We deal with it in cycling as I'm sure everyone well knows by now. But that isn't the point. Short distance 'burst' gains are made through training and time with PED's, not by taking stimulants. It's a placebo that popular wisdom among athletes has perpetuated. It's mostly a myth. Not saying it has no effect, but the effect is negligible and sometimes actually detrimental to the goal.

I agree. Mara is a prick of the highest order. Now, how does that translate to Griffin being suspended? If Griffin's possible suspension had been leaked prior to his appeal like the Seahawks player's suspensions were, it would have come out probably weeks ago (around the same time the other leaks came out) and there wouldn't be any issue.

This is not a matter of different time frames for the appeals process. This is a matter of different points in the appeals process when we found out about it. Unless Mara leaked the Seahawk potential suspensions, I don't know what he could have done wrong here... The list of bad/wrong/unethical/illegal things he's done is long. There's no need to lump something that he most likely didn't have anything to do with into that list.

There is no test for adderall they simply notice an elevation of amphetamines in the players sample. Many agent then leak out that it was adderall since public preception of it is less than straight up amphetamine. Not saying they are using adderall as an excuse but some of these players must have taken amphetamines and are trying to "mask" it as adderall since, in the public view, it is considered "less" of a drug and its implications as a PED are relatively unknow/new.

We need this type of control over performance enhancing substances. This is not only good for the game but good for the players. Trent Williams turned his life around last year because of this. Keep in mind football is still just a game. You still need a life after football and drugs are not the answer.
