After 2 injuries to Griffin this year, it would be in Washington's best interests to keep Cousins. Chicago knows fully well how much losing your QB with no legit replacement option affects your chances at success.
I keep replaying that touchdown pass in my head and am thinking if that were Rex in the game, it would have been a pick.
It's tough to tell his actual worth (picks), but if he is serviceable and can not only manage the game, but drive the team to win, he is worth his weight in gold.
I kind of wish he would have gotten the game ball. Kai is a huge part of our wins but Kirk really had an amazing day. I also feel that he doesn't get a lot of respect from Redskins Nation. Even when he comes in and wins the game for us, everyone is talking about RG3's injury and not mentioning his amazing poise.

Or a sack. The defender was pretty close to Kirk
After today, we're well on our way to creating our very own Kolb or Flynn illusion. Let him play a few crucial moments, he's the next Brady.

This fanbase is hilarious.
Everyone bitches and moans we don't use the draft well and we never build depth.
When someone comes along and does just that, they can't wait to trade our depth away.
Go drink a beer or any other nice adult beverage and enjoy a win and an actual playoff run for Heaven's sakes........
Cousins was the bright spot in today's win, I'd trust him to start the last 3 games We need him just as we needed Todd Collins backing M. Brunell
We could use another combo like Sonny & Billy

The ONLY Kicker to earn League M.V.P.
This is a QB-weak draft, and there are at least two teams who should be seriously considering a change at QB - Cardinals and Chiefs, possibly the Jets and Raiders too. If we're offered a second for Cousins, and there's a comparible QB in the draft that we can get, or we sign a low-priced FA (Vick maybe?) to backup RG3, then I think we need to pull the trigger.

the chiefs and cards will not trade for a backup QB...they both have been burnt by this in recent years. chiefs will draft geno, cards will grab barkley if he falls to them.
At least a 1st and maybe more if put on the market.
I agree. At least through next year. And depending on the offers that we get next offseason, evaluate it then. I'd say Shanny would let him move if we got a good offer. He seems like the type of coach that wouldn't hinder a kids career if it's obvious he could be starting somewhere, maybe not in the division, but somewhere.
I actually like this question, mainly because of the fact that (a) the Redskins don’t have a first round pick the next two seasons and they could use an extra pick, and (b) they’ve had pretty good success with rookies this season and they seem to be drafting pretty well lately.
Although it’s very premature to be asking it, because right now, Cousins is worth a 4th rounder, nothing more, nothing less,
So in a hypothetical situation where he plays against the Browns and looks fantastic – I mean the kind of game that couldn’t go any better, where he regularly looks off defenders, goes through his progressions and throws accurately to his third read on several occasions, shows he can make all the throws – then it might be worthwhile take a look at the 5 teams that really need a QB and might actually trade for Cousins.
Jacksonville (2-11)
Current QB: Blaine Gabbert
Gabbert has 5 wins in 24 starts as an NFL QB. That’s not good. While The Jaguars have multiple problems besides quarterback, I find it almost impossible to believe that they will keep Gabbert as the starter going in to next year.
However, they have about a 50-50 shot at getting the first pick in the 2013 draft. After this season, it’s going to be the trendy thing going forward to pick a rookie QB and start him right away. I suspect the Jags will go that route.
Kansas City (2-11)
Current QB: Matt Cassel/Brady Quinn
The Chiefs are the other team with a 50-50 shot at picking first in the 2013 draft, and I’m about 100% certain that the Matt Cassel era is over. When you get benched for Brady Quinn, things are not looking up for you as an NFL starter. And with a new coach likely, there’s about a 0% chance that Brady Quinn will be their guy going forward.
Again, if they make QB their top priority, they can take a blue chip prospect in the draft, assuming you believe Geno Smith or Matt Barkley are blue chip prospects, which is debatable.
Tennessee Titans
Current QB: Jake Locker
Could head coach Mike Munchak decide that Locker is his guy? I really don’t know. I have about as much inside info on the Titans as I do on farming techniques in Kazakhstan. But you have to at least list Locker as a possible causality, and the Titans might not be able to get Smith or Barkley. So hold that thought, because it’s a possibility.
Arizona (4-9)
Current QB: Kevin Kolb/John Skelton/Ryan Lindley
When you’re down to your 3rd string guy at any point, you know it’s been a bad season. The Cardinals could go 4-12 after starting 4-0. Kevin Kolb was just placed on IR; his season is done, and so, in all likelihood, is his career as a Cardinal. And if you think John Skelton or Ryan Lindley is the answer at QB there, you need NFL rehab.
With their win total, they might not be able to draft a franchise QB. If Barkley falls to whatever spot the Cardinals land in, I would have to assume they would draft him. Because here’s a team that already tried the “let’s trade for someone else’s backup” routine and it didn’t work out. So it seems unlikely they would do that again.
Buffalo Bills (5-8)
Current QB: Ryan Fitzpatrick
Here’s another team that tried the “backup-let’s-hope-he-turns-out-like-Schaub” route, and who didn’t get the results they were hoping for. So like the Cardinals, they may be soured on that idea. And they also might hang on to Fitzpatrick, though I'm not sure why. Assuming they do decide to make a change, with 5 wins at this point, it’s hard to believe they will get Barkley unless he slips because of his injury. They may not have a choice. If they view Cousins as the best young backup out there, then this might be the most likely team to make a trade.

Oh hell no don't bring that guy to our team. Reguardless of his past history, why on Earth would you get a back up that can't make it through a complete game. God forbid that Griffin was to get hurt and we would have to depend on vick to lead the team during his absence. Just no.
