In his interview today he said something about his dad using the phrase "the cream rises to the top." He said something like he felt that if he does his best that he could... then he changed the phrase and didn't mention it again. I don't think he's very bitter about it, I just think he wants his chance and it seems like he knows he isn't going to get much of one here.
Vick is not going to be anyone's back-up. Have some of you seen the QB situations in Arizona, Minnesota, KC, and NY (Jets)? He'll have a chance to start somewhere next season. If he does go somewhere where he has to start off as the #2, he's surely going to choose a team with a weaker #1 than RG3. Hilarious.

We drafted Cousins with the 102nd overall pick, and I think if we decided to deal him this offseason we would get a pick better than that. So, already, we have value. However, I don't think we've reached the "sell high" moment with Cousins yet.
Guess I just like the idea of a good back-up QB. There have been a few good tandems over the years.... Montana-Young, Favre- Rodgers, Brees-Rivers... Can't think of any more but I imagine there are more. Big difference here is We have both Rookies. Same rules apply I think, One is ready to "spread his wings" right now, and the other being Cousins, in a few years. Just updated myself on Cousins. He was picked 102 (in the forth round). Now I do like him, I think he can have great up-side and value, but I don't know of ANY 4th round QB that expects to play his first year in the NFL. If so, not many and maybe only for the Browns. Maybe. I just think he needs to be mentored in the 2nd string for 2-4 years first. What better to learn from than RG3? He may be a different style QB, but still much to learn.
I think Cousins is worth more to us than other teams, short of numerous other teams QB's having major injury issues, pushing up the value of backups. But we have injury issues of our own.
Forget deadlines and play keyboard GM - a GM comes calling today and wants Cousins, what would you ask? Knowing RG3 is limping, Rex is Rex, what would it take to part with him?
His worth at any is what it will take to pry him away from Mike. A 2nd, or a roster player. I have no idea.

Now or in the future, you don't keep a starting caliber QB on your bench for too long or you lose him for nothing. Timing aside, if people believe he can start, you find a way to turn him into draft picks...
After how badly players like Charlie Whitehurst, Matt Flynn and Kevin Kolb have bombed, I don't think teams will be trading decent picks for backup QB's who've looked good in spot duty.
Besides Matt Schaub, has it worked for anyone else recently? (serious question)
I dont want Vick within 100 miles of this team. I know he has served his time, and I am all for the rehabilitation and second chances, but please take it somewhere else. Plus, hes not any good.
Anybody that thinks we can get a 3rd round pick or higher for Cousins needs to put the pipe down. He is backup project QB with 11 attempts and 2 picks. Kolb and Cassell had better numbers over a much larger sample to justify their trade value. At this point, Cousins is worth much more to us than I believe we would receive in compensation for a trade.
"Oh, you hate your job? Why didn't you say so? There's a support group for that. It's called EVERYBODY, and they meet at the bar." ~ George Carlin
Cousin's value is best here.
We know what we will get with Rex, and quite frankly I am tired of throwing *****-fits every time he got behind center, and Kirk is a rookie; he's trainable, he's young, and thats good enough to keep around for grooming, just as Gibbs did with his QBs, by having them on PS or 2nd-3rd team offenses, gradually weening them into a starting position after a few years.
Having 2 very good QBs in formation at the same time? Even as a decoy, defenses would absolutely **** themselves trying to figure out what was about to happen, and if Kyle/Mike design a few gadget plays with RGIII and Cousins both in the backfield, the possibilities are mind blowing...
Anybody heard of Favre,Atlanta backup
Lets trade Captain Kirk for a first round draft pick!!! All in favor say I.![]()
