Thread: CBS: Dennis Dixon plays RG3 role at Ravens practice

"Against this offense,'' said McClain, "my job is my first read, and I hope that's how all my teammates see it too. It's impossible to ask any defensive player to play the dive, play the quarterback and play the pitch man. You've got to choose, and you've got to be disciplined when you make that choice.''
This quote from McClain reminds me of how committed to the inside JPP (or was it Usi?) was when RGIII ran outside on the read option for 40+ yards. I think the biggest problems facing this pistol offense are making decisions and sticking with them. Either way, you still don't fully know what RGIII is going to do with the ball; it's his perfected fake that is giving defenses problems. I've watched last week's game a number of times and you can tell that both RGIII and Morris have been working on the option a great deal. It has been so absolutely deceptive for opponents, because it's tough to defend. I love it!

And they are already a good defense like the Steelers, with a better offense. I could care less about their pretending to be RG3 because they don't know if we are going to run or pass on them, they don't know our game plan. Our defense has to step it up and get to Flacco, or he will have a big day against us. They lost the last 2 games because those defenses were able to put him on his ass.

Tough game and a what a statement if we win.
As of yesterday Suggs was listed as questionable on the injury report but it sounds as if he will play.I wouldn't expect Terrell to be 100% though. You are right, this will be a tough game. The Ravens tend to air it out at times which plays to the Redskins greatest weakness and Ray Rice is hard to keep under control.I expect another hard fought, down to the wire game.

The Ravens defense does not have anyone athletic enough to bother RGIII. The Giants line is 10 times more athletic and they couldn't stop him.

I also keep hearing how they plan to hit Griffin on options no matter what. I remember a game this year when RGIII would put his hands up to show he did not have the ball and the announcers said the defense would likely get a penalty if they still hit him in that case. I wonder will that happen.

Not even close dude. Steelers are #1 in defensive yards. Ravens are like #18. Steelers have legendary discipline (remember how well their DEs spied RG3). Ravens have a reputation for solid defense and they still do, but they are nowhere near the Steelers at this point.

Wow, that's funny considering how I made a post on here about a week ago saying the Redskins should look into acquiring Dixon as a backup in the future since he's a mobile QB. I had no idea he was even on the Ravens.

Looking at his tape, it's not the same thing. He ran the read option, ours is different.

If Dixon is so great at imitating RG3, Harbaugh is an idiot if he doesnt give Dixon a few snaps every game to run the Read Option.

I agree the Steelers are better, and our game plan sucked against them and so did our receivers, dropping everything thrown at them. The Ravens can be ran on, I saw Dallas do it and almost beat them in Baltimore, and Vick and Philly did beat them. Baltimore is so worried about RG3 and our running game that they almost forgot we can kill them through the air as well, and could be very vulnerable in their secondary because of it. Plus being a wet field, our receivers could torch them and we better take some shots.

I know Houston put over 40 points on them and I hope Kyle studied that game as part of our game plan too. I just hope our defense continues to play better each week and will get to Flacco, lay him out a few times and even pick him off, we are due for another defensive TD or 2 anyways, so why not today.
