Default Report: DC might swap FBI for 'Skins

We’re well aware that you can trade players, and managers, for that matter. But can you trade a major professional sports organization for the Federal Bureau of Investigations? We may find out.

According to NBC, Washington D.C. wants the Redskins back within the city. The problem is that the team’s lease at FedEx Field in Prince George’s County, Md. runs through 2027, seemingly locking the team in there for the immediate future.

However, an odd mutual solution to this conundrum may come from the fact that that the FBI wants to move from its headquarters, which is in fact located within the District of Columbia.
Under a proposed agreement that the two cities have reportedly talked about, Prince George’s County would let the Redskins out of their lease to move into a new stadium on the current site of RFK Stadium, in exchange for Washington supporting moving the FBI to Prince George’s County.

I wonder if it's just the cities talking or if the Skin's are in the mix too. I think it would be great to have them back in DC.
Too bad there isn't a penalty for excessive underachievement. The Cowboys would be flagged. (Clayton)

It feels like the media are putting the idea in the air than any actual formal discussion happening.

Hmmmm 15 years ago the city wouldn't cooperate with the skins about building a new stadium now they want em back? I would love for us to actually be in DC but lets be realistic, this is merely a pipe dream at this point

For a second, I thought this was one of those renaming the team threads and I thought

The Washington FBI... nah, but maybe the Washington G-Men... think we're better off sticking with the 'skins.

    I dunno.

We could nickname RG3 "Big Government".

AlMo could be "the liberal agenda". (We're going to keep shoving it down your throat.)

(sorry if somebody already made the joke)

Regarding roofs, I always thought they were overrated. I'm on the other coast and have attended one game in the last 10 years so I don't really have a horse in this race, but in general I've always wondered why an owner doesn't spend the 500M he spent on the roof and just build a super deluxe open roofed stadium. Would you rather host a super bowl every 12 years or have a Lambeau type of atmosphere every home game (especially in the winter)?

You do realise that a roof would enhance the atmosphere if anything? It doesn't need to be a dome.

This is an opinion, and one I disagree with.

If you could, what do you see as the biggest benefit/enhancement? Not getting wet when it rains?

Roofs can offer massive acoustic benefit if designed for that purpose. European Soccer fans hate open-air stadiums because of the inert atmosphere.

It's not really an opinion - it's obvious. Unless you're suggested not having a roof over your head makes the individual fans make more noise?

Umm having a roof keeps the sound inside the stadium inside spreading out of the stadium

Because that $500M to host a super bowl every 12 years would probably generate more money to the owner and city, then a "lambeau" type of atmosphere. When was the last time you seen the Skins office sell "Team Stock" to make enhancements to the field.

It wouldn't work because big government means big problems.

It's a bunch of hot air. FedEx is the place for the foreseeable future.

As much as I would LOVE for them to move back to DC, a new stadium is just about a 100% guarantee, that we as season ticket holders, would have to pay for PSL's

    Attending Redskins Games Since1976
