Quick RG3 update (next person to speculate on how much time he will miss without any kind of real knowledge will miss time of his own) (merged)

Last time I heard someone optimistic about their injury was Derrick Rose. (I'm a Chicago Bulls fan) I won't feel good until the MRI.

I don't care what you believe or don't believe in, but keep RG3 in your prayers and/or positive thinking.

I wouldn't assume that RG is okay... It's very likely that we will hear that there is ACL or MCL damage and the season could end. What bothers me about all of this is that there is WAAAY too much of RG running the ball on plays designed for him to run or plays that are designed for him to run more than throw or pitch. He's taking a tremendous amount of hits and this is not to the benefit of developing his ability to throw or feel comfortable from the pocket. It is obvious to me that KC drops with the idea of scanning the field which if I have to be honest RG misses many open receivers due to wanting to run too soon. If all were honest here then they would see that he too many times misses a guy that is wide open but has ancy feet is is ready to run, and does. This did not happen on the play that he was injured as that play was once again a "run option play" but how many coaches are exposing their franchise player to running the ball "willy-nilly". This cannot last too long before KC is our full time stater, which is not what I want to see. What bothers me is that RG is not being trained enough to learn how to read defenses more quickly and get through ALL and I emphasize ALL of his progressions.

Instead we are teaching or emphasizing his penchant to evade and run which in the long run will shorten or END his career which would be a tragedy in my humble opinion. RG I think possesses all the tools to get it all down, but he will be much more dangerous as a pocket passer that the "run option" is just an option that delays defenders bull rushing in obvious passing plays whether 1st and long or third and long.

I want to see RG under center for years and years to come, but todays outcome was no surprise and the Shanny's have to know that this offense as a staple cannot continue lest they plan is to have Kirk Cousins the full time starter and RG out of the league.

Happy with the win, but pissed that RG is sacrificed in development.

Um. I understand the need to assign blame for the injury, but I think it is really unfair to put this on the coaches. RG3's running ability is a weapon. Would you really have him be a pure pocket passer? I think that would be a waste personally.

If you must blame somebody, why not blame the defenders taking cheap shots at him?

Please just speculating unless you are a doctor, nurse or student or medicine. No one knows and won't know until tomorrow. If you remember the press clippings leading up to the game, a few players mentioned putting hard hits on him, and one even mentioned "breaking" him. Hopefully the NFL looks into at least the hit on Pollard, because the intent was there, plus that dude has a history of foul play

Yeah but they did nothing on Rodgers-Cromartie's attempted hit. In THIS case, Pollard did make contact but it wasn't nearly as bad as it was meant to be. There really should be about 4-5 flag a game (well not every game but some of them) because of this **** and we're lucky to get one. It's like the refs have been instructed since Vick to not protect QBs out of the pocket.

It was speculation he would miss a few games after the injury in the Falcons game, but ended up playing the next game.

He was laughing and joking during the PC, but said he is praying for a good MRI. He was using no crutches and seemed to be walking ok.

These are all encouraging signs but won't be out of the woods til MRI. Players insist all the time they are fine only to find out they are done. McGahee a couple weeks ago the latest example. And remember he TOO had a previous ACL.

Merriweather's knee buckled without anyone hitting him. That's almost always an ACL tear.

RG3's injury looks much different than that.
