Because every defensive coordinators knows, the only way you can stop RGIII is by taking him out.

I don't think Robert is being "targeted" more than any of the other quarterbacks. A defensive player is always going to try his darndest to blow up any quarterback if they have the opportunity. Some quarterbacks just have that innate ability to minimize the impact they need to receive...ducking or sliding at the right time at the right angle. Unfortunately, RG3 does not seem to have that sense of self-preservation yet. Hopefully it is something he will learn, because it seems like every hit he takes is an NFL Blitz hit-stick type wallop that nearly takes him out of his cleats.

Absolutely, team go into games against us with the mantra that they have to "hit Griffin." Beacuse most other QBs are not as mobile running they do not get as many opportunities to take hits, Griffin does. He is electrifying when he runs and makes plays, but has to start sliding or he is not going to last.
He does take too many hits, but you can't turn a TV on anymore without a video of Griffin getting hit. Hell, it was on CNN yesterday.
Oh i am not saying he is the only one by any means. And i know they are trying to hit them, but you would never see the headhunting that is occuring to Tom Brady or Peyton, or even Aaron Rodgers, but i guess that is becasue they dont get out of the pocket nearly as much as Griffin. But the headhunting is just ridiculous. Just tackle the guy.
The guy is a lightning rod. He's the ticket for others to get some free publicity. He's also a rookie and so everyone else wants to put him in his place.
Does he take too many hits? I mean, put aside the plays where, say, he pitches the ball and some ******* Raven tackles him like 5 steps after he did so (where are the refs?) Or say, the play is over, it was a push out but then someone else wants to lay a hit (refs?) What does a headshot have to do with sliding---HES ALREADY GETTING DOWN WHEN THIS IS HAPPENING.
Maybe the league needs to enforce its rules. It's like when Newman gave him that headshot vs. Cincy. It was on the sidelines, out of bounds, the play was over. That has nothing to do with "playin safe.
Also, our PLAYOFF CHANCES WERE ON THE LINE. It was not a first quarter run. He took a freak hit on the leg because Ngata wanted to get licks in on a guy already going to the ground. Even running backs don't get hit like that when they're going down. They show more respect to Alfred than they do RG3.
CALL THE ****ING penalty, refs. Then maybe guys will be less inclined to deliver cheap shots.
You will give the Redskins an ideal to strive towards. They will race behind you, they will stumble, they will fall. But in time, they will join you in the sun. In time you will help them accomplish wonders.
On course. If he were on another team we would hate him![]()

Agree man, but teams are going to continue to target him with those cheap shots as penaltys are not called. Unless it is a blatant shot to the head they are not calling it. I don't agree, but it is what it is. RG3 is not going to stop running nor should he, just seems every game he takes too many hard hits and in my mind no doubt that opponents are told to hit him hard.
Of course they are with one of the most exciting players in the league everyone is going to want to take him out.
Ngata through is body at Robert when he was already sliding, no surprise since he previously roughed him.

Can you recall how we blew Vick up at the Goal Line? How many times has Farve gotten flattened big time when playing. When you run / extend plays with your legs or cross the LOS running and don't slide and even then sometimes DB's take their shots it's open season on the QB. RG has still not mastered the slide as he has had some awkward ones that were close to getting him blown up and he's not slid and dodged bullets more than a few times this season. How many RB's WR's did Sean Taylor absolutely destroy? Tons. This is not an RG thing... this is the NFL (Not For Long) game. RG is lucky as is our Franchise and Fanbase as this could have been career ending.
The first play shouldn't of even been a penalty. Ngata pushed him with his hands as he's trying to not trip over his teammate and still get to the QB. There is no helmet to helmet contact. It looked worse then it really was. In reality, he just shoved him down.
The second one is a 300 lb man running down field and RGIII is sliding RIGHT in front of him. There's no way he can stop there.
That is NEVER going to be called.

The first one is the first play in the video. In the replay, you can clearly see his hands come out and the shove. The second is further down.
