You don't think we should be forced to respect another person?

How the transgender person identifies themselves is how they are referred.

Gender is not the same thing as sex. Gender is a social construction and a person can be a woman even though they were born anatomically male.

It's confusing to people who aren't familiar with transgender issues. That's the way I learned it though and I'm almost positive it's correct.
No, I don't think we should be forced to respect everyone's wishes. I don't care that much, so I'd probably bite the bullet and say "she", but it's ridiculous to force someone to refer to a male as a female. It almost seems equivalent to those people who fall in love with buildings and try to convince everyone that it's totally normal. It's not, and I don't think it's a crime to be openly uncomfortable with it.

When I think about it, if I'm making all the sacrifices to look and act like a woman in this society, I wouldn't like being referred to as male at all. I didn't say "it" wasn't worse, but neither are words transgenders would like.

Yes, you're right. It's not a crime. You can be "openly uncomfortable" with whatever you like.

But with that being said, don't be surprised if there are consequences.

The punishment is far from surprising. These companies have no moral compass at all. I'm just saying it's not right to restrict people's opinions like this. Lets stop trying to silence people and act like these issues don't exist.

Rather than voicing their own opinions and letting others do the same, these groups usually try to get a DJ fired or suspended. That's stupid, and it doesn't help them gain any support from anyone but the people who already agreed with them.

Thing is why would a radio station want people on the air offending listeners? Offend listeners, and they won't listen. When they don't listen, companies don't purchase advertising time. Without ads being purchased, nobody at the station gets paid. If you've listened to that station, it seems at least half their air time is advertisements, so it's clear it pays to just be polite.

I have to admit, I rarely listen to their shows for long because I flip stations at commercial breaks when I listen to the radio. If I am listening to the radio, I am on NPR fairly quickly :-).
I believe my job as a parent is to give my kids all the blocks they need to build a life in which they can attempt to reach everything they strive for and see anything they can imagine. In a world where everybody finds it easier to destroy than build, I wish for my kids to experience the joy of seeing something for the first time and the love of creating something new.

Looks like it was only a one day suspension. Andy and Czabe were back yesterday.

In the days leading up to the game, people had plenty to say about 6-foot-6-inch, 220-pound Gabrielle Ludwig, who joined the Lady Saints as a mid-season walk-on and became, according to advocates, the first transsexual to play college hoops as both a man and a woman.
Coach Corey Cafferata worried the outside noise was getting to his players, particularly the 50-year-old Ludwig.
It's just cheating. this is why they have the NBA and WNBA because the performance and product is not the same.
Blame the coach? no way he's saying no and getting fired/sued
Blame the school? no way they are syaing no and getting sued
Blame the girls that told her not the quit: They got a ringer, no way, its to the championship round now.
Blame her? Her whole life is confused.

A GIANT mess that nobody will address because you get suspended if you try.

I agree just because you mutilate your penis and carry yourself like a woman doesn't make your genetically or physically a woman.

What do you think the other teams in this league call "he/she"? How do you think they feel that there is a woman trapped in a man's body, seriously messing with their chances to make a championship run?

I love Czabe... and I think this is one of those things that he should stay away from. It was absolutely wrong of him to say... but at the end of the day... if my daughter is in that league, and another team has a huge dude who grew up confused and wants to be called a woman... I'm going to be pissed for all of the hard work that my daughter has put in for years, just so that one person can feel like they belong. That's some bull****.
