I'd dress up like Pocahontus if it means players might start tossing helmets to me.

So do what you do. I thought you looked like the WWF Roadwarriors anyway.

Kogod has only been at the Post for like 8 months. She's trying to make a name for herself still and digging as deep as necessary in order to do so.

You guys are in the right. Don't even sweat it.

Why is it OK that many Native Americans wear cowboy hats and boots, but for some, it's NOT OK for us to wear any Native American attire?

awesome but just so you know half of ES are gonna hate these pics As far as dressing up I don't find it offensive (I'm .5 native american lol). I was listening to Kevin and Rock last Saturday and they were talking about a similar blog about RG3woman and even had her on the show. I'm a member of ZE Redskins over on FB and they are a lot of "Super fans" in the group who love to dress up and go to games and I see no harm in it. Its all in fun and support of the team and its not like other teams fans don't do the same, I just think they're getting a lot of attention since the team is now. * shrugs*

I voiced my dissatisfaction with the tone of the article in the WP's comment section.

Over the last 20 years, political correctness has run amok and activist "journalists" with not-so-hidden agenda's don't have the writing skills to subtly sway opinion anymore. IMHO, the article vilified a FAN(atic) in favor of pushing he author's personal agenda (and the agenda was obviously to change the name Redskins because it offends a minority segment.)

Keep up the fandom Yellow Canoe!!

That is too cool. I bought an RG3 signed full size replica helmet for 200 bucks before the season started :P. Its authenticated and all.

You guys are living the life. I get so bored in WV that I get jealous of you all having so much fun. I did a house search near Landover and the houses are twice as big for the same price. I might have to move over there and become "Red Kayak" someday lol.

Also, forget her, you have a helmet and your having a good time without insulting anyone.

The dirty little secret on this issue is that the majority of Native Americans, from my understanding, don't care about the team's nickname, costume, emblem, uniforms, song, etc etc etc.....I think everytime this issue starts being pumped up, they've done a poll of Native Americans an something like 98% said they had no issue with it at all.

I get a warm, fuzzy feeling every time the racist accusations fly. It means we're relevant again.
