You are completely in the wrong and everyone in this thread is just trying to protect your feelings. This is an act of the worst order. In fact, the only thing you can possibly do to make ammends is to mail me the signed helmet and then continue to go to the stadium while dressing and acting as you were before. Only that can restore balance to the universe.

(There's a long, long history in football of fans wearing their teams colors for every team under the sun. Teams that have no native connection. It's a big stretch. You are just showing your love for the team and screaming for a little attention. Nothing wrong with it at all. Still, if it will salve your feelings, you can send me the helmet.)

I'm still looking for the "blowback" and any statement in the article that the OP is "denigrating Native Americans."

Bottom line is, you are at a Redskins game... you're cheering for the team that you support.. don't let mindless idiots change what you're doing.
Haha. Here at work tomorrow at the main office, we're having a "Winter Celebration." It's been 70 degrees here in Charlotte (unseasonably warm- usually in the 50s this time of year).

When you hear lions, bears, giants, eagles, rams, etc do you think negative connotations? Not speaking of as teams but as mascots. Bears and lions are fierce, eagles and rams regal, giants intimidating. So why on god's green earth would a team choose a name to demonize and insult it? That's just straight dumb. To think you have to be part of a culture to celebrate it is more racist than what they are rallying against.

I can't help but think of the Florida State Seminoles. Though they have given millions to the tribe, and the tribe officially supports florida state's use of the name and logo and sends its own people to commencement ceremonies and games, the ncaa decided they understood the situation better and that any team couldn't use a native american mascot or name.

91% of native americans polled across the united states found the name redskins acceptable. To have 91% of people agree on anything that is supposedly a controversial issue is astounding. When the university of north dakota moved to have its named changed from the fighting sioux, one of the sioux tribes in the area SUED to have the name retained. For Kogod to be a fan, and then decry fans for actually celebrating the name, is unbelievable hypocrisy.

Don't worry bro, despite your crazy antics, you're a far more reasonable person than she is.
I would post a thousand of these if it wouldn't take forever:

I didn't see any negativity in the article, seems she's just fishing for clicks.

The only thing you did wrong was be in the right place at the right time in the right gear saying the right things. I, for one, am exceedingly jealous! Display that helmet proudly Sir!

    Hail!!!

    Hail.
I scrolled down a few posts & didn't see this answered so, in case I missed the answer, you're probably going to read this again.

Dannyboy took the Posts privaledges away when he bought the team. Cook had something like 50-400 tickets that went to the Post every season (& that was at RFK) & in turn, they were very friendly in their reports. However, in the years after Cook died & there was no owner at all, they kind started letting loose with some things & when Snyder took over, they never really stopped. He asked them to, from what I understand, but they refused. So he stripped their tickets.

That's what I know. I may be wrong tho.
