So did our very own Joe Theismann, and he was also a punt returner. The man would scramble in a heart beat.

I don't think there has been a "running QB" that is as good a passer as RGIII has been either...

It depends on who the other team is.

I really like Kaepernick in college, so I'd probably root for him to do well. That being said there are generally a couple teams in the AFC I like more than the 49ers, so we'll see.

I don't think we need to worry about people saying running QBs don't win SBs. The QB position has been a passing position for years, pure runners generally don't have the mechanics, accuracy, etc., that pocket passers do. In the past you pretty much had to pick either a pocket passer with minimal scrambling speed, or a running QB with problems in his passing.

Now we've got a bunch of dual threat guys in the league and coming into the league. Griffin, Kaepernick, Newton, and Wilson are all dual threat. A few other guys could probably qualify over the next few years, Johnny Manziel had over 1000 rushing yards to go with his 3to1 TD/INT passing ratio. Colin Klein, Logan Thomas, and Tajh Boyd are all guys who could qualify as dual threat, with Thomas being an early favorite for top QB next year.

Sooner or later some QB who has a large number of rushes but also great passing technique is going to win a SB, and people will finally be quiet about the whole thing. The whole "running QBs don't win SBs" thing is based purely around the notion that running QBs are flawed passers, which is no longer true.

How are we playing in the super bowl versus the Packers?
    Step 1: Ignore Offensive Line
    Step 2: ??????
    Step 3: Super Bowl!!!

    word.

There are only a few teams in the NFC that I would never root for in a super bowl, and The Whiners are one of those teams. .

Aaron Rodgers and Big Ben are "running QBs" too.

ESPN Commentators would jump all over you on this one. They would claim those guys are 'mobile' quarterbacks. HUGE difference in their eyes... and complete garbage. Who really cares if we are winning, right?!?!

    - 10 years since drafted RGIII (so 2021 season).
    - Rak has huge game in most recent trip, last year (2021 season)
    - Drafted Rak in '09.

Rak would be 35 or 36 at the time. That would be awesome if he had that kind of game at that age.

Heck, it'd be awesome to have that kind of game at any age.

Elway and young and others, were not running qbs in the greater sense, they were qbs who ran,, running qbs fall into the category of Vick, bobby Douglas(i know before your time) that slash guy from the steelers,, these guys look at 1 read and if nothing is there they take off running, they are more comfortably doing that then looking at all their reads,, Elway young, and even Tarkenton would (almost)always get thru all their reads before running, or they saw a huge hole to run thru.. but they didn't look to run first .. so that's cleared up.. i mean looking at all the examples on this post you can say every qb is a "running" qb
