Parker has been suspended until further notice by espn, just saw it on sportscenter.
no, I took offense at Grant Hill for attacking an 18 year old
yes I think Grant Hill was wrong to react to what Jalen Rose said. There is literally no parallel between Parker's comments and the mindset of an 18 year old Jalen Rose.
Jalen Rose mentioned in the doc, and an interview on the BS Report show before the doc was aired that he didnt like Grant Hill as a kid. He mentioned that he was ignorant as a kid, but thats how he felt. Rose didnt say he felt Grant Hill was an Uncle Tom today.
Grant Hill wrote an Op-Ed bashing an 18 year old's mindset. It was stupid and done just so people in the media can pat him on the back. I lost a lot of respect for Grant Hill for that piece. It wasnt needed.
here is the link to the story on espn.

My 2013 NFL Draft mancrush - Dominick Reyes, S Stony Brook
I find the most absurd thing this stupid moron said (paraphrasing) RGS's only redeeming (black) character quality is that he has braids. This from a "sports analyst" on a sports network.

Again, Im not defending Rob Parker, but dude is just a symptom to the sickness that has engulfed ESPN.
Colin Cowherd goes on his show each day and talks about how 2 parent homes make good QBs and how John Wall wont be great because of his father being dead.
Or the First Take show can have a topic about whether Blake Griffin is black or white. Or Stephen A Smith saying "n***ga" on that show at least twice.
There is a bigger problem at ESPN than just throwing Rob Parker in the bushes.
The problem is not RG3's apparent "cornball Blackness." The problem is a society with such a narrow definition of what a Black man is.
I think it's a disgrace that when a Black man votes conservative Republican, dates or marries non-Black females, doesn't "talk or act Black," too many people are ready to believe he's some kind of an Uncle Tom who hates himself for being Black. And I can say firsthand that I've seen all kinds of people, Black, White and whatever, express disappointment when you're Black and don't live up to the stereotype.
I love First Take, one of the few medium not afraid to attack race relation issues. Steven A. and Skip are great TV. Now, I went and watched to what the fuss was bout. Parker asked if RG3 was a brotha or a cornball brotha. What is a cornball brotha u may ask? Well, Parker goes on with Skip to tell the story of Tiger Woods who denied and even said it bothered him to be called black....because he in his mind he was not. This was apparently on Oprah. So, a 'cornball brotha' would be a black man who didn't identify themselves as being black and/ or was even embarrassed, ashamed, wished they weren't......etc. I think Parker took pause to RG3's answer to not being labeled as JUST a black QB and said his people in the DC area or someone informed him Mrs.Griffin was white and Robert was a republican. Everyone knows being black and republican is not something common in the black community these days and those republicans who are black(that i've seen) have shown themselves to not be supportive of the black reality in America. I think Parker was questioning if RGIII was like Allen West because RG# made no reference to those who have paved the way(Doug 17 Williams) in the interview.....
being labled a 'black qb' comes with an undertone of being a 'runner' . any black qb knows tHis And i think Rg3 made the statements with this in mind.
I'm just happy we haVe the kind of playEr that the world gets whineY over. jc maDe suspEct commeNts...crickeTs.

Ignorance is not only the province of Parker. It's an argument for other fora, though. If perchance RG3 comes out as a, gasp, Republican, would you join in calling him an uncle Tom?
I didn't have a D stamped on my ass when I was born. I'm not a lemming, and I won't follow anyone off a cliff blindly.
And anyone who calls me a Tom or says I'm brainwashed can GTH.

RGIII is a class act in the face of adversity. And that he is really always handles himself with grace. And hope now that he has money and fame and will have more of both, he will never change. As Parker seems very clueless. And he needs to have more dignity like RGIII does!
Blessings for a Safe Mother's Day!
No. I love all people. My wife, kids, closest loved ones are black, though. as am I.
I really hate this **** that Parker et al do. And to a man who should be an example to our youth, no less. All youth, for that matter.
Tom epithets should be relegated to the sixties, or seventies, with Shaft, bell bottoms, and disco. We all need to get past this.
to RG3 being an example of how to play QB.
