Default Start Captain Kirk. Bring in RG3 if we absolutely need to.

I've heard everyone give their opinion on this situation, and it seems like there are only two options:

    1. Play Kirk
    2. Play RG3

I think the best option is to meet somewhere in the middle. Start Kirk. Let's see what he's got. If things start to look bad, and we need to put up some scores, bring in RG3. Has no one said this? We're stuck between a rock and a hard place here. We can't afford to lose another game, and we sure as hell can't afford to lose Mr Franchise. Hopefully we wouldn't need to bring him in, but if we did Cleveland would have to change up their defensive gameplan midgame.

No need to play RG3 if he's not well enough to start.

Or you could have just posted your 'opinion' in to the other opinion's threads?

Do the opposite. Start RGIII. If things go awry, put in kissin'.

We could start them both like the way the Jets have been super successful with Mark and Tim.

Yeah guess I could have done that. But when Mike Shanahan browses this message board, he'll have a much better shot at reading my headline than a reply in a thread 30 pages deep. He will then institute this plan, save our season, and want to hire me for a job.

Jay Cutler has a sprained MCL and is starting Sunday...

Big time players step up when it matters and RGIII will do the same.

That's what I was going to say. I mean it's not like there are already 2 other threads on this very topic. I see an optometrist in his future.

You have the whole thing backwards.

    Start RGIII
Kick the Offense in HIGH gear for the first half
Take a 35-6 lead into halftime
Bring in Kirk Cousins to start the 3rd quarter

    Win the game 45-13

Move on to play Philthadelphia next week.

RG3 is going to start this week. There is no evidence to support that he won't at this point.

And anyone who doubted him after he came back into the game AFTER the injury occurred and completed two HUGE passes really underestimates this kids ability and toughness.

I'll say it again. He completed two huge passes IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE INJURY OCCURRED.

That said, I'd like to get to a huge lead and have Cousins play as much of the 4th as possible.

Wow, this has got to be one of the more original posts I have come across since the injury. I certainly hope Mike Shanahan does indeed browse through these boards when not watching film/game planning. Perhaps during his cigarette breaks...

I did see this suggested in other threads... and I agreed with it at first. Problem is, the more I think of it, if we think RG3 is well enough to pull us out of a hole, he should be well enough to keep us out of one as well. I wouldn't be heartbroken if we did this, but it really helps to jump on another team early. If we can get up big, we could THEN put Cousins in to close it out. I'm really indifferent, as I think we'll win either way.
