Last weekend could not have gone better with regards to the Giants.

They get their asses kicked.
The Ravens hold out Ray Lewis one more week and get beat thus they still need a win to clinch the division.
Ray Lewis will make his return, which will fire up their defense and their crowd, against the Giants making that game much more difficult.

I fully expect a Ravens victory on Sunday.

Let's be realistic, fans of NFL teams care about the team and wins and losses. They don't care what the owner does. Was Mara right in what he did? Nope. Does that detract me from caring about the Giants and wanting them to win? Nope. And it wouldn't any other fan either. I am a Giants fan, not a Mara fan.

As far as the playoffs go, the Giants could actually clinch a playoff spot this week if all of the following happen:

Giants win
Redskins, Cowboys, Vikings, and Bears lose.

There's also that little detail about how Mara's actions have destroyed the integrity of a once-great franchise. And THAT is something that Snyder has been taken to task for time and again, regardless of wins and losses.

This right here is why I feel sorry for Giants fans, at least the ones I know who are bothered by it, which is all of them that I know (a handful). I don't give a flying **** whether a Giants fan wants to be felt sorry for, I just hate seeing a franchise I was proud to have in the division being run by this complete piece of **** who will do anything he can to gain an advantage for the team, including illegal things.

It's like how I felt for Pats fans in the wake of Spygate - they didn't deserve to have their team's success called into question because someone was cheating, but it happened.

Exactly Tom..these guys act like we should hate the giants somehow because of Mara..we are fans of a TEAM. Half these guys would be laughing at us if the shoe was on the other foot. Right or wrong.

The thing is it actually may end up hurting them. If they don't finish ahead of the Cowboys and Redskins next year then both will have cap space available in 2014 from contracts they weren't able to sign this year. It is looking more and more like they are going to finish behind at least one of them this year. That leaves them next year as their window to get any real advantage from it. And if the Skins win the division this year I have to assume we will be the favorites to do so again next year with so much of our talent young.

It obviously is an advantage being able to spend more money than your rivals but we know as much as anybody that the size of your payroll doesn't necessarily translate to success.
