Man, with all these scenarios... just makes that blown secondary coverage against the Giants at the end with Victor Cruz that much more painful to think about.
Scenario could of been a lot simpler had the defense held on that final minute.
All of this talk; all of this hype; all of this excitement.
The ONE singular thing crossing my mind right now is this; the Redskins secondary should be grilled every single moment up to that game about sticking to their responsibilities and not trying to be a hero, and under NO circumstances should Williams be caught flat-footed staring at the QB and getting burned.
This is the thing that bothers me more than anything else; no, its the ONLY thing that bothers me, because its always Madeu being roasted out there. And for good measure, duct tape Hall's mouth...
Oh thank you...thank you...thank you..I was lost in this whole mess..you cleared it up nicely...thanks again..
I really hope you're right. I'm all over the map right now as far as being excited and yet fearful of dissapointment. I feel on edge right now, but if the 4 games this weekend could somehow turn out the right way for us and clinch a wild card spot, then I can relax during Christmas. I try to tell myself that a) it's out of my conrol and b) it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things, but that's not helping...

Can't assume everything else would have happened as is. Hitting rock bottom at 3-6 may have been a huge blessing in disguise. Who knows... If we win the first game against the Giants, they might have drilled us on MNF... Could have been a desperation game for them. Who knows... Maybe we'd be 10-4 right now... Or maybe we'd be 6-8..... Or maybe right where we are. Who knows.
Yes. This would be the absolute best. As fans, knowing that we're going to the playoffs, sure would take some of the sting out of a loss to the Cowboys. I wonder how this scenario ( clinch berth this week ), compared to a " win or out " situation against Dallas would affect the teams mentality or mood for the Dallas game. Better? Or less focus?

"Washington strolled to the NFC championship, outscoring their two playoff opponents by a combined total of 48 points. Their domination was more than impressive, it was historic. The 1991 Redskins boasted the largest average margin of victory among all Super Bowl champions."

Awesome thread! We are winning out anyway, so dispense with the alternative scenarios!
This team is gonna make some noise. And I'm itching to get back to the big easy...
