So..a loss by Minn (vs GB) Chi (vs Arz or Det) and Giants (vs Bal or Phi) and we could still win a PO berth with a loss? That's actually realistic. Detroit is very capable of beating Chicago. Baltimore and Philly should give NY a run for their money. And GB is going to beat Min. I am sure of that.

That would give us the the #6 seed. #5 seed, I think, if all that happens and Sea loses out (Sea would get #6 seed).

How is it that, the 'Skins are on a 6 game fury, yet I am completely pessimistic over their playoff chances?

Because they began their run with a 3-6 record. It might not be in the cards this year, but it has been quite a ride and we are going into week 17 as the first place team in the East. We are going to finish with a winning record, a winning division record, and a winning road record. We are back even if we fall short against Dallas in a week.

Man you are old enough to remember 1979. I would rather have a wild card in the back pocket, then to go into next week with hearts pounding and palms sweating knowing the loser stays home.

That's the truth. Remember the game all too well. That scenario involved the Bears, also.

How don't we win the division this week now that we won, Dallas lost, and if the Giants lose? We'd be one game up on both of them so even if we lose next week we'd be tied. I thought the first tiebreaker went to records vs the division. no?

Dallas and the Redskins would both be 4-2 in the division and the next tiebreaker would be common opponent in which Dallas would be ahead of us on and win the division

I'd say asking for the Giants to lose either this week or next, Vikings to lose to Packers and Bears to lose to Lions next week is pretty slim.

Well Giants are down 17 - 7 as I type .....

I think the Vikes will lose to the Packers as well , but I can't see the Bears losing to the Lions who have been pretty bad the last few weeks ...

They don't follow division tiebreaker with straight up conference wins? That's messed up.

That sucks... we had the tiebreakers before the day started... Dallas loses to an NFC team. We beat an NFC team and yet we are in no better position now than before the game? Sheesh. I knew it would be this way but I hoped that magically something would change after we won.

Something did change - we just need one win to clinch the division. It could be much worse.

It was basically the exact same as prior to today. The Saints game only meant anything for Dallas WC hopes but since they finished their division games already except for us, it still comes down to our game especially now that it looks like the Giants are just going to roll over and die.

Just think if we had beaten the Rams & Panthers.

If we had beat the Panthers I believe we would clinch the division today with a Giants loss.
