Oh, believe me, I know. I have been up close and personal with these folks. They came to my school 2 years ago. http://www.theeagleonline.com/news/s...at-au-jan.-14/
I am also of the belief that they can be further marginalized though mockery and that its going to just be plain fun to watch them get ****ed with. This is sort of poetic justice because the actions of WBC don't change anyone's opinions, nobody has honestly heard them and though "you know what, maybe God DOES hate fags." All they are doing by protesting funerals is ****ing with people, and now the tables have been turned.
It wont STOP them, but it will make for great entertainment to watch them be a punching bag. The report out there now (from Anonymous) is that they changed Shirley Phelps desktop pic to gay porn. Even it that does NOTHING to effect the behavior of WBC, it makes me smile.

I think Westboro Baptist are scum bags I also think Anonymous are nothing but internet terrorist. They strike at anyone they do not agree with denying them their civil liberties
I see people posting private info all the time, what is the purpose other than wishing someone else harm them
both are jerks

Really? Take a look at their targets. They very much cultivate a Robin Hood aesthetic.
Internet pedophiles, "the 1%," Kony. They seem to be extremely concerned with the public perception of the group as a whole. If they didn't care, they would work so hard on their "brand." They even have a logo.![]()
there was somebody the past few days with the twitter name "@BlastinKids" pretending to be that sick **** in CT who killed those kids. Making jokes about them and all that bull****.
Anonymous figured out who the real person was, he also had an account named "@RabbiJewey" which was lovely.
Anyway, Anonymous posted this "http://pastebin.com/vjySdTPg" link that shows who the guy really is, where he lives, works, etc with his Facebook, really twitter, instagram.....and then let him know they were sending all that stuff to his employers. I imagine he's fired or will be soon.

How should society view a cure for a ailment of limited duration that takes another's life to 'cure'?

The thing about the Westboro Baptist Church is that there really isn't a way to fight them without get yourself in jail (i.e. killing/harming members). Since they're a Baptist Church, there's no governing body they answer to and any attention they get (good or bad) is a victory in their eyes.
This "church" is a blight upon the land and I hope someone they will be purged.

Didn't anonymous declare that they were going to destroy Facebook and then did absolutely nothing? I'm going to wait and see if they actually do anything this time before I give them any credit.
They're like kids who are misbehaving. They crave attention. Any and all attention fuels their fire. I don't consider them a church.
Leviticus 19:18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD. You missed the point. So go and picket someone elses funeral. Noone will be at yours.
I think you are underestimating the power of social media and the internet. Sure it might not be as effective as destroying their physcial assests, but for sure is causing them stress in every sense of the word and that's the goal and the cherry on top for anonymous is no one is getting caught or going to jail.
