I have been thinking this for a while. I have also thought that missing the Cleveland game was probably good. I'm sure his desire to play every snap of evey game made him a safer player. You never know what you have until it's gone.

The knee brace is said to be causing the awkwardness in the mobility, but it is a precaution. I believe he is 100%, and I also believe it is a reminder to live to play another down. He looked perfectly fine burning Ware on the edge last night, and it should only get better from here on out.
I do miss the recklessness, I'd love to see him take it the distance again before the season ends.

I think learning from mistakes is always good, but he poorly executed a lot of passes that he normally would not have. THAT is what concerns me. I actually thought he was mobile, enough (though obviously not 100%). But we are in big trouble if he can't regain his accuracy.

Knee brace + poor footing + adrenaline + good db play = qb looking off.
rg3 hasent been smacked since they played the Falcons. He has played smart since that game. IF anything the Injury kills him even more because he is more liable to get smacked turning those corners as slow as he does right now.
I can dig this. I really like this team's ability to run the ball, stop the run, win turnover battles, and now limit big plays on defense. Having said that, we need Griffin to be able to play better as a QB then the last two games. I blame the brace, but teams like Seattle and Atlanta coming up are not going to care...

Yeah. I think Seattle is going to do the exact opposite this week, and force us to pass. I said before the Dallas game that keeping everyone back deep and daring us to run would be a bad move, and they did it. I think we will have a chance to make some big plays in the passing game this week if they do that, and if Griffin is healthy (enough)

Last night was by far the worst night of his NFL career so far, and he still contributed a great deal while making zero costly mistakes.
EDIT: I forgot the Panthers game. Didn't watch that one, but apparently it was middling. He was great in the Steelers game, I don't care what the stat sheet says.

Well enough to take down a Peyton Manning, Arron Rodgers, or the SF defense if it comes down to it? That's my point and I hope nobody misses that. Eagles game he was decent and got the job done for the most part, but I don't feel nearly as comfy with his QB play in the Dallas game. And I do feel the brace plays a big part in that. A lot of inaccurate throws and ground balls. Off game or not, I do feel he'll need to be closer to 100% then he showing right now if we want to advance. Off game isn't going to fly this coming sunday, and he's still playing like he's hurt even though the last press conference he said he was better.

Happy New Years, ES!
Just re-watched. Around 9:45 mark, 1st quarter, 3rd & 4. Option run left. On his fourth step, as he plants off his right foot to cut up field past a lunging Sterling Moore, it appears he flinches ever so slightly.
I could have been seeing things, just my initial reaction as I was watching.
I agree with this this post. He did not look like himself throwing the ball. Although, from where I was sitting and watching the WR didn't ever look open either. Which is probably why Morris had a huge game.
Edit: I should have read the rest of the replies to this thread...

I don't think that RG3 was particularly reckless before the injury. I think that unfortunately, much like Roethlisberger, injuries are just going to be part of the story with RG3. (note: I don't think their playing styles are all that similar, but I think that occasionally missing chunks of games ought to be the expectation for both guys.) I'd like to see him get fewer carries as he progresses (closer to 5 per game), but I think the truth is, as long he remains competitive, and as athletic as he is, we'll always be holding our breath when he takes off.
And, ultimately, I think all of that is OK.
I think it's useful to remember that the stakes were high for both teams. Yes, RGIII did look a bit off in the dallas game, but we WON THE DIVISION with him consistently playing big in big moments all year. I trust him when he says he's good to go. And I believe with him taking the snaps, The Skins can beat anyone on any given Sunday. Although I understand that his stats weren't as eye-popping as he's gotten us accustomed to seeing, he did Win The NFC East on a huge stage for us. I have faith in him playing well and beating Seattle too.
As for the OP's point, my feeling is that game experience has caused him to be more careful in his scrambling/rushing. Yes, I'm sure that the injury does have something to do with that. And it's also safe to assume that no Skins fans want him taking unnecessary risks on the field, but again, I trust him. I believe that his (limited) NFL experience level--and the staff--have taught him how to compete as a Quarterback, and I love the results! I trust that Shanny, Kyle, and the medical staff at Ashburn wouldn't have RGIII out there competing if it exposed him to further injury.

Agree. And I'm cool with that being the case, if it happens like that.
