What a career. The NFL will miss him and it seems an end of an era is happening in Baltimore.

This actually makes me sad. As much as I dislike the Ravens, I've always loved Ray Lewis.

Easily one of the greatest to ever play the game. Right in the conversation of best middle linebacker ever.

Linebacker Ray Lewis told the Baltimore Ravens team "this will be my last ride" on Wednesday.

Lewis has been out of action since Oct. 14 with a triceps injury.

Great player but his hyper intensity and schtick got old and stale quick. I bet his teammates deep down would say the same thing.

Guy should have retired five years ago.

I still have Butkus and Singletary over him as players, but I dont think there has ever been a better pure on the field leader in ANY sport than Ray Lewis.

+1 Glad to see someone else sees my POV.

    Gimme London Fletcher anytime.

I bet Ed Reed retires too after the season. It just makes sense they go out together

Yeah, he's a lock HOFer but I was never a big fan. He was part or some great defenses but give me London Fletcher any day of the week.

Lewis has been in the league 2 years longer so he has 4.5 more sacks and 8 more INTs but despite the 2 years extra Fletcher still 350 more tackles. (Fletcher also has 1 more forced fumble). I'm assuming Fletcher will play next year and if he does he'll probably be close to tied in sacks and have 500 more career tackles than Lewis, with Lewis still having an extra season on him.

They won't need to take him, the Ravens may push him away

The London Fletcher vs Ray Lewis debate is a great one. It's the end of an era in Baltimore for sure, and Ray Lewis is as iconic in that city as Cal Ripken. That said, I do take a perverse pleasure in the sadness of Ravens fans.

Maybe LT or Reggie White, but that is some great company there.
