Why does Ray Lewis get a free pass?

By the way, I'm not even arguing Lewis' redemption or the initial crime. What I find irritating are the facile arguments advanced against those who deign to remain critical of Lewis or hold to some kind of standard. The dumbest is the idea that somehow the limit human mind can truly comprehend or care about thousands of victims of violence across the country in some equal or proportionate measure and it's somehow a flaw to be unable to connect with and speak on all things at all times.

I dont know if it is a flaw, but we all only care because Ray Lewis was involved.

If you take Ray Lewis out of that situation, this doesnt get major coverage and we arent talking about it almost 13 years later.
