The thing is to make assumptions about a return date is futile at this point. Not only do we not know anything about the ACL yet, but everyone recovers at different rates from these types of injuries. I feel fairly certain that he'll get the very best treatment and post op rehab that's available. He's also very athletic and otherwise healthy and young. With his drive to succeed and play the game, I don't doubt for a minute he does everything he has to do to be ready to play next season.

Welker pulled off something similar to Peterson, didn't he?

Wes Welker had an incredibly quick turnaround too. I think this talk about career threatening and missing the entire next season is ridiculous. Ill be shocked if he's not our starter for the 1st game next season.

I agree with your sentiment here. It can't be known until Andrews chimes in... but that's also why I said 'if'.

Confession: Every time RG III did something outside the pocket I had legitimate anxiety about his previously reconstructed ACL.... What that means for the years to come.. A lot A lot A lot of anxiety

Exactly! If that's what they are saying to ESPN we can at least be excited for some good news instead of getting all pissy and pessimistic.

lol everyone on twitter is just throwing out recovery times for lcl surgery I wonder what the real time table is? i've hear from 6 months to 9-12 months

this is assuming it's just lcl which might not be the case at all.

If and I say IF it's around Thanksgiving, it will be the Kirk Cousins show and they might have a difficult time adjusting back to RG3 so late in the season next year.

Personally, I won't be satisfied until I hear Dr. Dre's opinion.

No, worst case scenario is that he becomes a Cowboy.

Great post...that's how I feel too.

Career threatening is insane for the simple fact that no one has thought Bernstine's career is over and his knee injury is definitely worse

For those who want more pain today - NFL Network is showing the game right now on replay. Normally I watch them a couple times during the week but can't stand to this time.

Have a feeling it will be ever MORE upsetting watching Shanahan allow an obviously hobbled and ineffective RGIII flounder on the field...
