Which is what I said originally...they usually have good information. It does not appear to be the case in this situation.

I wondered about that with what Andrews said to USA Today. I worked in D1 college athletics for a while and we had to be very mindful about what we said and released. I know those same rules carry over to pro sports.

Edit: And yes, people can sign waivers, but they hardly ever do. Stuff just leaks out from anonymous sources and usually people are not that upset about it. But that does not necessarily mean that is is not in violation of federal law.

Fair enough, but fwiw my reply was directed at the other poster who seemed kind of defensive and upset.

He has not about the recovery time. This was what he found in the MRI and what he planned to do about it.

This was yesterday after the MRI and his assessment on what he was going to do.

It was reported Tuesday that Dr. Andrews will surgically repair Griffin's lateral collateral ligament in his right knee, which he tore in Sunday's wild-card loss against the Seattle Seahawks. During surgery to repair Griffin's torn LCL, Dr. Andrews reportedly determined that Griffin's anterior cruciate ligament needed to be repaired as well.

He said he saw an LCL tear that required surgery and he would determine during surgery what needed to be done for the ACL. I have seen nothing on what actually happened in surgery. If they grafted the ACL, 8+ (8-12) months is likely for recovery. If they repaired the ACL, it is 4 months (due to the LCL reconstruction).

Repaired vs replaced is a HUGE difference. If they just sutured the ACL and tightened the screws, the recovery time is in weeks. If they replaced it, it is months.

EDIT: I am not saying they didn't replace it, just that I don't know and I don't think anyone else has been told either.

They said according to Dr. Andrews assessment that the ACL was a total replacement. What ever that means
