From Roberts College coach, and he knows Robert very well:

"I'm concerned about [it] like everybody else, that care about him and loves him, but as far as his journey from now to the end of his career -- not worried at all," Briles said. "I know the man. I know the inspiration. I know the drive. I know the spirit. I know the effort and the attitude that he'll work with. He'll overcome this and he'll be as good as new."

I do find it amusing that everyone who knows him and the only two surgeons who actually have seen the inside of his knee say 8 months is realistic and he should return to full form or better, and yet the legion of armchair doctors just dumps on that. It's mind boggling.

Watching a video like that makes you realize how you would want the very best surgeon like a Dr. Andrews. All the probing & drilling. I don't know how than work in there without damaging something else.
I was also amazed at how clear the picture was... then I realized the amount of water they were pumping into the knee so they could have room to work and see. Incredible.

Heard he had a bowel movement today. Sounds like he's still on schedule. More good news guys and girls.

But saying that 8 months is realistic a couple days after surgery is perfectly fine. Whether that actually pans out with all the variables that will be introduced between now and August, that's what's not known right now. Those who love or know Griffin personally can only comment on his dedication and their opinion that he'll do whatever it takes. I'm sure that's completely true, but not everything is in his control.

I believe it's completely possible that Griffin could be back to 100% in August, but not even the doctor or Griffin himself knows if he WILL. As fans, we ultimately just care about what ends up happening...not how reasonable the doctor's estimate is. So, if August rolls around and Griffin needs more time...the doctor isn't really any worse off other than needing to possibly explain what transpired to change the course of the rehab. All I'm saying is that Griffin, the team, and the fans are the one with a stake here...we want to see Griffin play again, at 100% health, as soon as possible.
"Washington strolled to the NFC championship, outscoring their two playoff opponents by a combined total of 48 points. Their domination was more than impressive, it was historic. The 1991 Redskins boasted the largest average margin of victory among all Super Bowl champions."

A third injury would not be the end of the world, but at that point your worry is just as much ancillary damage to other parts of the knee as it is graft source. In other words, lets avoid a third injury.

But please do not think about that. Think about the fact that it is certainly possible that Robert will fully recover. I dare say, with his determination, it's likely.
Agreed. That's what I'm trying to block out, the potential of this happening again. But it all has to do with wanting him to succeed so greatly with this franchise because if he stays healthy he is absolutely bringing a SuperBowl to DC. Postive Vibes and Good Thoughts. As fans we owe it to Rob not to cringe every time he leaves the pocket, he plays with no fear and we should cheer him on with no fear. HTTR

So wow there was a repair of the meniscus as well?!

    http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/w...surgery-011013
The surgery that Dr. James Andrews performed was a repair of his LCL, a revision reconstruction of his ACL and a repair of his medial meniscus. All three surgeries are significant when done alone. When done together, they comprise a major surgery that leads to an extremely painful and arduous recovery.

Does anyone know if Robert got a good night's sleep last night? I hope it was at least 7.5 hours.

Exactly, then to add the bitter opposition (fans) who all say "he's screwed now, done- can't throw from the pocket" just make it even more amusing. If I need to get my blood boiling I can always tune into ESPN's "The Herd" with that douche, who has an obvious hatred for RGIII. Can't go a show without taking a shot at him in either a direct or indirect way. Always says how he runs a simple offense, can't read a defense, etc.

Green Day should change their lyrics, this fanbase would like to be woken back up, when August ends...
