Maybe...but I just don't see why either side (optimists or pessimists) use anything being reported in January as any "proof" of anything. I guess that's my point. All indications could point to a 8-month recovery time. In the end, he could be ready in May or December...no one really knows and his college coach's opinion of his work ethic, his doctor's initial estimate, nor someone's horrible experience with their ACL back in college really has any impact on Griffin.
"Washington strolled to the NFC championship, outscoring their two playoff opponents by a combined total of 48 points. Their domination was more than impressive, it was historic. The 1991 Redskins boasted the largest average margin of victory among all Super Bowl champions."

Again, not what I said. Not even same conversation. I was remarking on how legions of armchair experts think they know better than those most informed. I don't think anyone has 'proof' of anything.

I understand your point, which is certainly but it wasn't anything I was talking about.

    Understood...my bad.

Great article in the Post (?) with Hightower discussing his ACL and recovery in the context of Griffin. Not sure if I can post a link to it, but if you go to ESPN - Graziano's column, he links it. You come away with a warm, fuzzy about THT and hope he can return to the game next season. If he's recovered enough, I'd love him back for depth and such.

As a die hard Eagles fan , I hope he gets better and your FO does something to prevent this again. Griffin is way to young to be hurt this much , not to mention a stand up guys.,

not the front office's fault, griffin needs to be more careful and protect himself more. you should know by watching vick play.

Its honestly mostly RG3's fault that he's hurt. I heard someone say that every time he got hurt, it was not on a play that called for the QB to run. He seems to always try to get the extra 3 yards and he payed dearly for it. In no way am I crap talking, I just wish he'd learn to get to the ground or out of bounds.

The previous didn't even fail completely, it just wasn't going to hold for an NFL player. Other than that, yes, thats what it sounded like to me.

Sorry, I left out a word in my above response, should say "I understand your point, which is certainly correct but it...."

And no worries, i just wanted to be clear. For sure, the only time we will know when and how he comes back is when he is back.

No, LL's quote does not imply that at all.

There were (probably) screws inserted at both the femoral attachment (Femur, bone on the top of your pic) and at the tibial attachment (bottom attachment point in your pic). If indeed there was "tearing near the screws," we don't know which screw(s). Literature appears to suggest that most tears occur near the femoral attachment. Therefore, the tear of the reconstructed ACL could have been a normal tear, meaning that the graft had been sound.

On its own, LL's quote doesn't tell us anything about the quality of the original surgery. It MIGHT suggest that the 2009 ACL graft was properly aligned, which would be a positive indication for the original surgery.

I would be shocked if he doesn't play to protect that knee from now on. This is two ACL surgeries. The third could be the end of his career.

I mean they used the patellar tendon from the healthy knee as the "new ACL" so i dont know that it matters where it tore since they replaced the whole thing (or a large portion of it with the patella tendon from the left knee).

Vick was getting killed in Philly because the line was so bad though.

I'll be watching to see how much he tries to protect it. He's seemed like a fearless, caution to the wind kinda guy up until now. But I wanna see if his footwork gets screwed up cuz he's anxious about guys being around his legs. Like if he's reluctant to step into some throws. I would think all QBs with ACLs go through that mental hurdle though.

I've seen Peyton Manning literally just crumble in a heap with defenders yards away to avoid getting hit. Of course, he's not exactly nimble. lol

RG3 played better after his first ACL surgery, granted it was probably because he went from being 19 to 20 and arm got stronger, body got tougher, learned the plays, etc. Here's hoping to the rehab taking his conditioning to another level...!!!

Vinny Cerrato believes he gave Jim Zorn a roster that can make the playoffs. A playoff kicker doesn't miss that kick. A playoff safety doesn't bite multiple times by a double move in the same game.
