I agree... very cool article on the insight of Andrews' extremely aggresive rehab...

"Robert Griffin III’s rehabilitation from reconstructive knee surgery likely began minutes after waking up from anesthesia in a recovery room in Gulf Breeze, Fla.

If his experience at the Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine was anything like previous patients, physical therapists were jostling his knee long before his head was clear of sleep inducing drugs."

Vinny Cerrato believes he gave Jim Zorn a roster that can make the playoffs. A playoff kicker doesn't miss that kick. A playoff safety doesn't bite multiple times by a double move in the same game.

RGIII's injury and making sense of the optimism from the Redskins and Dr. James Andrews

Dr. James Andrews has been using stem cell injections to help increase the recovery time of athletes' knee injuries, which explains the optimism for RGIII's quick recovery timeline.

I am alot more optimistic after reading this.

I have tried to stay out of this stuff ever since the game, but this kinda excites me. It really means that its feasible if not possible for RG3 to have an AP like recovery, Beauty.

Just remember and stay sober remembering that although AP was able to miraculously come back in 9 months, he ran like a madman all season but even he said that his knee was not fully 100% throughout the season but he expects it to be 100% in 2013/2014.

Just tryin' to keep it real, people. It's a progression of stability with his knee. He will be fine but don't expect 100% on Day 1 in August.

Unless he took some leftovers from AP. That would be awesome...RG3 with a just a pinch of AP.

As long as the Knee is strong and is in no danger, the team doesn't have to wait until he is full speed as he plays QB, not RB. While his feet are a big asset, once the injury is fully healed and there is no fear of further injury, he can come back without having to wait until he is back to 4.3-4.4 in the 40. Just like AP himself said he wasn't 100% early in the season, he still played without getting injured or getting a setback because it was fulled healed, just not 100% strengthened.

The same reason Rivers returned in 6 months from an ACL tear, is the same reason I think Griffin will be ready week 1. He may not have his burst til later in the season, but he should be good as new by then and thats all that matters. He won't see the field if there is risk the knee is in danger of being re-injured from not being fully healed. Andrews' rep would be on the line and he wouldn't make a foolish decision like that.

After reading that article, you can't help but to be optimistic for not only a quicker return, but also increased stability with the knee hopefully. At this point, I think we have to take everything we read and hear with a grain of salt. We'll never fully know until he steps back onto the field and sees live action and then he probably won't be totally 100% for a quite a while after that. Like everyone else, I've been sick to my stomach worrying about the future health of our franchise QB, but this tidbit of information does give us some ray of hope. As stated above...we have to keep things in perspective and be patient as hard as that might be.

One thing is for sure...he's getting the absolute best care in the world and he will work his *** off to get back to full strength. That alone should leave us with some form of optimism moving forward.

Ignorance like that is what hampers stem cell research.

Good read about the stem cell injections I have never heard about that before. At this point its just good to hear anything positve about Robert's recovery.

I just wish this off season could accelerate somehow. I am already so sick of reading that RG3 is a fragile running QB, he will never start again ever, and comparisons to Wilson and Kaepernick or should I say how they are all of sudden so much better. It's embarrassing to hear these things from our own fans and now opposing fans know to use these opinions to push our buttons.
