But I'm sure (once again) that facts won't get in the way of the Anti-Read Option Agenda crowd.

Exactly. Mike Tomlin thinks it's a flash in the pan, but more importantly is that I hear so many quasi-football fans say how he'll get hurt. The Bengals game was the worst, and I don't expect it to be repeated, but like you've suggested, the plays he really got hurt were designed pass plays.

Shanahan has already conceded that defenses will adjust to the read-option and be better to defend it (which is great he acknowledges that), so their offense must adjust and make new wrinkles...

It just stinks that RGIII won't be health this offseason mini-camp to practice the new wrinkles.

Vinny Cerrato believes he gave Jim Zorn a roster that can make the playoffs. A playoff kicker doesn't miss that kick. A playoff safety doesn't bite multiple times by a double move in the same game.

While it def stinks if there is one player i would never worry about putting in the work and still knowing the wrinkles and running them flawlessly when his number is called..... it's #10.

The truth of the matter is that a flawless read option offense is extremely hard to stop, no matter how much you practice against it. You need a DE with incredible foresight and the ability to read the play.....during the play! The LBs can't bite on another man than the one they're assigned to etc.

RG's fake's are so good that the cameraman is often faked also. Half the time I don't even know who has the ball. Imagine being on the field in the midst of all the chaos and trying to figure out who has/is getting the ball?! Anyone can say what they want, and I'm sure teams will get better at defending it, but if we stay focused and get better at running it, it's still going to be extremely hard to defend.

Yea, haven't heard too many people complain about this. I for one, don't think it's a huge deal. He's that good. He is the wrinkle lol. He was amazing right from the start, and some could argue his first summer before the NFL was awfully hectic with ads and appearances... that he would be too distracted or something, that his college style won't work. All of that was wrong. I trust RG3 to get something right on his first try, second at the very least.

Very true. Shanty said he was the first rookie he's ever seen come into minicamp and align every formation up correctly.

He caught the league off guard so I was looking forward to seeing the evolution of the offense... On the flip side... Now Kurt cousins will catch the league off guard. They don't really know his style

Does RG3 have to be completely medically cleared to even be ON the practice field? I'm not sure how it works. Because if not, who's to say he couldn't do some light practice? If he's already able to jog now, he should be much further along several months from now.

While the following quote, by Tim Brown, was directed at Dez Bryant, I do think the same advice could/should be given to RGIII and the Skins coaching staff. The good news is that RGIII seems smart enough to actually apply it. Dez? I doubt it:

“They have to talk to him about preserving himself for the full season, man, because they need this kid on the field all the time. But he takes himself out of the game by doing some of the things he does. He’s trying to do good. That’s the bad thing. I mean, that’s the hard thing about this is it’s not like he’s doing dumb plays. He’s trying to make something happen but sometimes you just have to be a little smarter about how you go about that because you can certainly put yourself in a position that you end up hurting the team instead of helping.”

No report, I just said 'if'. It's the next logical step after walking, and he's been walking on it for months.

No problem, I should have indicated it was based on an assumption.

“He definitely looks really good,” Davis said of Griffin. “You can barely even tell that he’s hurt. He’s doing every drill. He looks comfortable and normal to me. When he first got back, I was surprised, like, ‘Did you just have surgery?’

Note to self.... stem cells is the way to go.

Was that from his interview this morning? That is great to hear. Can't wait for offseason training etc to start

Not sure, but I believe I read that some time ago. Perhaps a couple weeks maybe.
