Whats the story with Deangelo Hall?

My thinking is we really do need him with the lack of depth in the secondary. I think he earned a shot at 2013 with his performance over the final 7 games plus playoffs. Is the only hope for him returning to take a paycut?

According to this, it seems like he will be here. I personally think he will stay but I wouldn't be shocked if he didn't.

Thats your man. He was the QB coach for the Bears having previously been Cutlers QB coach at Denver under Shanny. He was then the QB coach at USC for Pete Carroll and became the OC for the Seahawks when Carroll became the HC there in 2010. He only lasted 1 year though in that role.

I dont think he has ever coached receivers before though ......

Talk about FS our there, Ed Reed is UFA. I know we don't have the cap space but what if we do resolve the 18 million dollar thing? to we spend some money on Reed? I mean Reed and Merryweather with a late draft pick to groom might not be a bad deal.

Ed Reed is 34 and very close to the end of his career and while he still makes plays he is not the player he was even a couple of years ago. Setting aside that I really can't see him signing anywhere other than Baltimore - if he does not resign there I would see him retiring.

I think Reed's about ready to hang up the cleats. There are several S available via free agency that are in mid to late 20s. I think we will be able to sign 1 of them.

I am not arguing with this, I agree on the age and his drop in production but the leadership qualities he brings are huge. In addition its not like he has to relocate that far. I think someone like Reed will add much value to a secondary that seemed clueless at times out there. Again I agree he may retire if the Ravens don't come up with a deal for him or even if they win the SB this year.

There is no chance or hardly any chance he is going anywhere other than retirement if he doesn't stay.

According to Rich Tandler's tweet, Morris is safe.

Is Raheem safe for now? Looks like Ray Horton will get Browns defensive coordinator job according to a few reports out of Cleveland.

I think Ed Reed on one leg is an upgrade over Williams - and thats not much of an exaggeration! But he's not coming here.

Thats a good pick-up from the Browns - Horton is a very good DC IMO.

Cleveland finally has a legit OC and DC now. Turner and Horton make very good coordinators for a team that has been in the dumps for a long time. I wish we could ship Haslett to Cleveland and bring Horton here.

Lets be honest here -- the FedEx Turf was credited for more tackles than Madieu Williams. When was the last time this guy had any significant positive impact on the game?

I know they've been toying around using him at FS for a couple years now, and he was back there in that capacity a few times this year. Why not just go all in on that experiment? Particularly if they plan on upgrading one or both of the corner spots.

What I like about Hall at FS is the versatility it provides in case of injury or ineffectiveness and he has to play corner. It's like having a swing guard or tackle that can play on both sides.

Now, I say this without checking the tape to know how well he performed in that role, but it's worth investigating further.

I strongly doubt he'd go from highly regarded DC, to HC candidate around the league, to position coach in a month.

I'm glad we get to keep Raheem (so far). The players really put out for him. I'd be interested to see what this staff can do with all of the talent this team has assembled.

That said, I'd love to see Slowic out and someone new in here to coach LBs.
