It is no favor to us this year, but next year, we will be thanking Mara for all of the free money we will have. We wont be losing any of our own stars for probably the first time in my career as a skins fan.

Notice, he says restructures.

Most likely means they are looking to sign someone. They havent restructured besides to get under the cap at this point which we are now. Unless they are working to free up money for the draft already, but i think its a little early for that.

I wasn't guaranteeing NFC Champs this year, merely stating we won it last year with our current crop which is almost all returning...

My point is that you can't be confident in what a regular-season roster will look like because you never know where the injury bug will strike. Would it be great if Griffin, Rak, Meriweather, etc. returned to form by week 1? Absolutely! But could you have predicted beforehand how/when each of them would get injured last year? Or guarantee that they'll bounce back this year? A critical function of FA is to plug holes and build depth in anticipation that some injuries will happen.

Thank freaking the Redskins Gods that Vinnie wasn't in charge of these uncapped years. It would have set us back another decade and there would be many 0-2 win seasons.

In terms of years and money what do people think we should resign Fred Davis for? Myself, 1 yr/2.5 - 3 mil. This taking into account the injury he suffered last year and the upcoming season to see if he comes back to full speed and produces.

I would hope for a 3 year deal with 2013 being no more than $2million but with incentives for playing all season and staying healthy. I would also like a team option at the end of the year in case he goes down again we can walk away. Not sure he would sign something like that though.

I keep thinking his contract will be something like Morgan's, who also signed coming off an injury. Five years but voidable in two, plus lots of incentives to make the contract's maximum value high while keeping the cap hit this year low and giving us an escape valve.

All the players the Dolphins signed this week have a collective cap hit of around 14 million. In 2014 it balloons to 43 million. Would you want us to do that? That's what we used to do.

Yeah I would say the Dolphins have about a 3year window before they are going to start having a firesale. When 4-5 players take up 40% of the salary, you are doomed for failure.

Philly is probably in the same boat but being that Kelly is a college coach he might not have much more than a 3-4 year window anyway to prove what he can do so its probably not that big of a risk for him to go all in. If it doesn't work he will still haver about 100 colleges beating his door down to bring him in.

What would you have them do? They arent going to restructure people for the sake of restructuring. If we have a player on the table, they are working to open the cap room to sign them, but to just create cap space for no reason is non-sense. They need to squeeze every penny they can this year so that way next year and the year after we arent fending off bloated salaries that were pushed to the future because of the penalty.

You have to compete. I wonder why Brady took a pay cut (I do not like the Pats but I like that they do what needs to be done. Check their record every year)? We needed to restructure. Not waiting.
