This sucks for Rob, and is unfortunate. That said...this may be a gift to us IF Shanahan can over look it...as it may provide an opportunity to resign Rob next year for a few years as true, quality, solid depth while signing Orakpo to our long term starter.

Just FYI - the E.J. Biggers information was from Raheem Morris who has given me permission to use his name. Drafted him. #Redskins
I was actually thinking "I'll bet that source is Morris." Good to see us working that connection.

According to PFF it was 1 vs. ATL, 1 @ NYG, 3 vs. CAR, 1 vs. BAL, 1 @ CLV, 1 vs. SEA.

I have a few of those games saved maybe I can get a chance to re-watch them and see what I see.
Unfortunately no, all I'm seeing are the yearly totals. Also not seeing a description for how they give out sacks.

Captain Munnerlyn - DB - Panthers
Panthers re-signed CB Captain Munnerlyn to a one-year contract.
"I'm staying a Carolina Panthers!," Munnerlyn announced on Twitter. The soon-to-be 25-year-old recorded 61 tackles, nine pass breakups, and two interceptions last season. It's a big signing for the Panthers, who are scratching for every dollar right now. Carolina now has six corners under contract for 2013. If the season were to start today, Josh Thomas and Josh Norman would likely start on the outside with Munnerlyn covering the slot.

Brian Urlacher - LB - Free Agent
Free agent Brian Urlacher was looking for $3.5 million to $4 million from the Bears on a one-year deal.
Urlacher likely considered that a hometown discount, but in reality that's far too much for a broken down soon-to-be 35-year-old. He hasn't ruled out a return to the Bears this offseason, but it seems unlikely that he'll be back. Urlacher will be lucky to find the $2 million Chicago was offering on the open market.

    Jonathan Martin - T - Dolphins
GM Jeff Ireland said OT Jonathan Martin's future position on the line remains unsettled.
"We’re still visiting with a couple of tackles out there," said Ireland. "To say Jonathan is going to definitely play left tackle or right tackle, that’s still yet to be determined. I’m comfortable with him playing either position." Martin started the final five games of last season at left tackle. According to Pro Football Focus, he gave up 17 hurries and two sacks in those contests.

    Brandon Moore - G - Jets
ESPN New York reports free agent OG Brandon Moore is drawing interest from the Cowboys and Lions in addition to the Dolphins.
Moore visited the Dolphins on Wednesday, but it's unknown if he's lined up visits with either Dallas or Detroit. Moore is going on 33, but both teams need to upgrade their interior line. Moore was Pro Football Focus' No. 4 rated guard last season.

Brian Urlacher - LB - Free Agent
Free agent Brian Urlacher has no "immediate plans" to retire.
Urlacher says he'll look into joining "one of the teams he's spoken with." He's been connected to the Vikings and Cowboys since the start of free agency. Adding Urlacher would be more about leadership and intangibles than production, as his athleticism has all but vanished after 13 seasons of giving and taking hits.

Elvis Dumervil - DL - Free Agent
League sources tell the Baltimore Sun the Broncos' "preference" is to re-sign free agent Elvis Dumervil, even though they've scheduled visits with Dwight Freeney and John Abraham.
In other words, bringing in Freeney and Abraham is a power play. Dumervil was reportedly "underwhelmed" by the Broncos' most recent offer, but he's yet to be overwhelmed by anything he's heard in free agency. The situation will likely come to a head some time in the next 24 hours.

Brian Urlacher - LB - Free Agent
Free agent Brian Urlacher confirms the Bears made him a "take it or leave it" offer of one-year, $2 million.
"It was a ultimatum, not a negotiation,'' Urlacher said. "I wanted to be in Chicago. I wanted to finish here." The Bears were cold and calculating with one of the best players in franchise history, but based on Urlacher's 2012 performance, $2 million was generous. Urlacher looked ancient on the field, particularly when attempting to defend the pass. Unless an owner is interested in selling tickets, it's unlikely Urlacher finds a better deal on the open market. Retirement is a very real possibility.

Ed Reed - DB - Texans
Texans agreed to terms with S Ed Reed, formerly of the Ravens, on a two-year contract.
Financial terms have yet to be revealed, but CBS' Jason La Canfora "wouldn't be surprised at all" if Reed gets close to $6 million per season. If that's the case, he'll be one of the lone free agents to actually get close to what he was asking for. Reed is an ideal replacement for Glover Quin, and adds an edge to a defense that let itself get pushed around down the stretch last season. Along with Chicago's Brian Urlacher, Reed is the second defensive icon to move on from the only team he's ever known in the past hour.

Wow... didn't know the Texans signed Ed Reed.

Brad Jones - LB - Packers
Free agent LB Brad Jones met with Packers officials for roughly an hour on Wednesday.
It's the first time the sides are known to have met since the start of free agency. Jones proved invaluable down the stretch last season, starting Green Bay's final 12 games. Per the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, he played all but seven defensive snaps after joining the starting lineup. Jones visited the Titans last week.

I was hoping that we'd sign Brad Jones if London retired, this kid is a baller and will be a very good player. This was a missed opportunity that may bite us in the ass down the road.

I just want to see DHall back and Sleepy, too, if possible. Then get ready for the draft. With the limitations we've been stuck with, I think that'd be pretty damned impressive FA period.

When we hear that the team is only 800K below the cap, does that include the money we need to save for rookies? Or are they separate?

No, we still need to make that room somehow.

Anyone else afraid these rules like the crown rule to "protect" players (aka avoid future lawsuits) are going to make the game worse and worse? I love NFL football but man I hope they don't go too far.

Its either going to take sometime, not only for fans to get use to, but players. Im already pissed with hitting defenseless receivers, I think its a joke sometimes. Now when a runner is going full speed and try's to bulldoze his way through, are they "going to have to think differently" that interferes right there in my opinion.

You guys need to familiarize yourself with the rules before commenting. The crown rule is solid. Good rule to have and it's about time the offense had an unnecessary battering ram penalty added.
