I like sean smith. He doesn't have great long speed or great ball skills but he locks his guy up and very tall and physical. He has ranked highly on PFF

Here's a thought: draft Nick Florence to back up RG3...then trade Cousins for Larry Fitzgerald and voila! We have 2 QBs who can both run and pass efficiently and WRs who can catch the ball on every down.

Fred Davis will be back and we will have Helu and Royster to back up stud Morris.

Because Cousins after one game is better then anyone they have had out there for the last five years.

haha I get that but wouldn't you think they'd want more than just Cousins for such a good player?

edit: nothing against Cousins he might turn out to be GREAT, but as of now he isn't.

    Now here's a question:

Ryan Clady turned down a 50M/5 year, 28M guaranteed deal. He won't be coming here obviously. However, he will probably set the market, and be paid highest of all the FAOTs. Assuming everyone falls in line, what would the guys beneath him be looking at?

Winston last year signed a 22M/4 year contract, and he was considered the top RT on the market. Jared Gaither got about 24M/4 years, I think 8M guaranteed.

What does that mean for guys like Andre Smith or Will Beatty? Could they be in line for similar contracts, somewhere in the low 20s M, 4 years, around 8M guaranteed?

Hard to say....but since everyone is down on Polumbus, was I the only one who thought Hurt did a decent job when he played? Cheap, already here, knows the system....a possibility??

I rather sign Ryan Harris for cheap and hope he stays healthy and have Polumbus on the bench

    Harris
    Amendola
    Quin
    Shields
    Derek Cox

Cut hall, go with Shields/Wilson/Cox/Crawford/Draft picks and Quin/Merriweather/Draft pick (remember Wilson only has next year on his deal)

would be a very nice offseason haul. I know we all love Moss but he is going to be 34 soon, and the moment you start putting people on the roster because you like them is the moment you start losing. I rather cut ties with him before he is completely useless. Though I wouldn't outright cut him if possible, I would just start Amendola over him

What do you do when Amendola misses his usual 7-9 games? I'd keep Moss for now, he played very well this year, just renegotiate his contract so he costs less.

Go read how the coaches who were fired from the Jets this past week feel about him. And go read how JAX's front office feels about him (mind you, he can put butts in their Stadium's seats, but they don't want him either). What makes you think a team with two, very young, starting caliber quarterbacks even need to mention that name or bring with them that headache?

If worse comes to worse, we'd put Josh Morgan at QB. He can probably throw better than Tebow as well and he's faster to boot. We don't need that headache around here. End of discussion please.

EDIT: And I'm not trying to scare you off from participating in the thread or crush your fandom of Tebow, FWIW... I just think QB is a non-issue at the moment. Thanks for the input, but please, lets move on from this conversation

What about Sav Rocca? Are we going to replace him or keep him around?
Jim Haslett is a horrible coach.

No love/faith for Chase Minnifield or Tanard Jackson?

We haven't really discussed Punter that much but it's a good topic! Sav was a forgotten guy. He was pretty good about pinning his kicks inside the 20 and 10 yard line. I can think of a handful of bad punts in his two years here. He's been great! BUT, I added Pat McAfee to the OP so that he could handle kickoffs as well. We all know that Kai has a cannon for Field Goals, but he isn't that best at the kickoff. McAfee could solve punter and kickoff specialist for years, and he's young. That is if Indy doesn't resign him.

We also have 2012 rookie Tom Compton as a potential future RT.

The front office restructured his contract whilst on our practice squad to keep him after several other teams tried to sign hm to their active rosters.

To quote Mike Shanahan on Tom Compton..."I think he’s got a big-time future for us.”

Maybe the guy has a chance for 2013.

Agreed, those two are why I don't think we necessarily need to go looking for a RT.
