Great question/point! I also think it has to do with the number of guys on the market at that position as well as who's expected to come out via the draft and how they are graded. Last year's draft produced a lot of MLB's that were rated highly, therefore the market (that was decent for MLB/ILB) wasn't what a lot of guys thought it would be. That's why you saw MLB/ILB as the last position to be signed in most cases.
The market for Tackle via free agency was smaller last season that it is expected to be this year. Also, outside of Kalil and maybe a couple of others coming out via the draft, not a lot was expected out of the class... so the market value went up.
Now, agents are always going to argue that "My tackle deserves more money than Eric Winston got last year, etc" but I have a feeling that Front Offices deal more year to year with these types of signing based on all of the above variables. Just my take anyways.

I'm still high on Compton as well, but I did take pause Mo Hurt started at RT vs the Eagles with Polumbus out with a concussion and Jordan Black suspended. It was just a little weird being that Hurt hasn't played tackle in live action since he was a Florida Gator.
