I'm an NCSU guy so I've seen a lot of David over the past couple years. Nicest guy you'll ever meet. To me he's a D-Hall type on the field--ballhawk, gambles a lot. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. He had an amazing sophomore season in which he broke the INT record but this past year he fell back to earth. I'd say he's probably worth a 3rd-4th rounder.
If the Dallas Cowboys and Al-Qaeda played a football game, I would show up dressed as Osama bin Laden
Not generally into pissing contests but since you wanted to put in the correction...
Check post #183 from January 8th. Lewis was my second choice CB at the time, behind Sean Smith as I liked Smith's size and I thought the Steelers may actually hold onto Lewis. Your first mention was post #282 on the 10th. I've actually been enjoying reading your posts on it because you've had some good insight and has actually fully sold me on him.
Either way, great minds think alike. Lewis would be a wonderful target. Second in the league in passes defended and seems to not have stone hands like Carlos, so seems to have the skills to be a stout cover guy. Still young, shouldn't come too expensive, and from some his comments seems like he has a small chip on his shoulder if he gets let go which I think is very good in a cornerback as an intangible type of thing.
I don't know so much if he's "underrated" as I'd almost say under the radar. In other Free Agency periods I think he'd be closer to a top 3 guy. We're just lucky this time that he's coming out at a time with a higher profile promising young guy in Grimes along with two "Big Names" with draft pedigree in DRC and Talib. It seems like a pretty good year for Corners in free agency, which is very lucky for us since it will drive the prices down a bit in a year where we can't spend a ton.
Touche! I actually had some of my information mixed up in my head.
The pick number is worrisome. That said...I'll admit, as annoying as Carlos's stone hands were, after he was gone I massively missed his cover skills compared to the feast/famine that was D-Hall as our main guy.
Not a smart ass at all...my memory was off and you corrected it. ThanksI'll have to go search for his college numbers.
-edit-
Looks like 4 as a Senior, 3 as a Junior. None before.
As a comparison to Carlos 2 as a senior, 1 as a junior, and 4 as a sophmore (strangely, kind of fits with the notion of Carlos's eye sight playing a part in it as it would've been degrading over that time period).

It happens. I was always in the camp of supporting Los. His hands/eyes were horrible but I like the guys that can cover even if they dont get the INTs. I would love to have Lewis, if he can cover like you guys say, Wilson as our 1 &2, with Hall getting to roam a little bit. Since I have no reason to doubt y'all so I'm officially Pro Lewis.
Skins contact J Bates to replace hillard as our wrs coach...Bates held same pos in denver when mike was hc.
Morris let him go in 2009 from Bucs which ran a 4-3
