Woodson is ancient. We need to continue to build this team with youth.
He can cover on the inside, matches up well with athletic tight ends and is still disruptive around the line of scrimmage. His intelligence enables him to be a coach on the field and makes up for some physical limitations. Woodson always was a risk-taker, but that started to become a problem as he lost a step.
You have to take the good with the bad when it comes to Woodson at this point of his career.
There will be teams that want Woodson on the roster. He could be the missing veteran piece for an organization ready for a championship run.
I usually shy away from older, injured guys but I just can't help but love Woodson. He's one of the most accomplished football players ever (Heisman, National Champion, DPOY, Super Bowl winner, etc) and if it isn't prohibitive, I think he'd be a great guy to have around in the locker room and on the field.

Chiefs | Want to re-sign Branden Albert
The Kansas City Chiefs have talked with the representatives for impending free-agent OT Branden Albert about a new contract.
Bengals | Andre Smith expected to be priority
The Cincinnati Bengals are expected to consider re-signing impending free-agent OT Andre Smith as a priority this offseason and could place the franchise tag on him of they are not able to sign him before the start of free agency.

Henry Melton - DL - Bears The Chicago Tribune considers it a "good bet" the Bears will franchise tag free agent DT Henry Melton if a long-term deal cannot be reached before the March 4 deadline to apply the tag.
Franchise tags can officially be applied on Monday. The Bears used their 2012 tag as a means toward locking up Matt Forte long term. They could do the same with Melton, who is a crucial puzzle piece as an interior pocket collapser. The defensive tackle franchise number is $8.3 million. Before the tag is applied, the Bears figure to meet with Melton's agent at next week's Scouting Combine.

Percy Harvin - WR - Vikings A source "close to the team" tells CBS' Jason La Canfora Percy Harvin's issues with the Vikings have been "widely mischaracterized," and are about "the scope of the passing game" and not his contract.
La Canfora's source claims Harvin has "not complained about his deal to the team," and never threatened to hold out. This directly contradicts most of what's been reported since Harvin's Vikings future became an issue again earlier this month. Regardless, La Canfora believes the situation could "come to a head" as early as next week. Reports going back to last summer have indicated Harvin was going to make noise about his contract this offseason, so it strains belief money has nothing to do with his most recent drama. Whatever the issue is, trade rumors should only intensify in the coming days.

Titus Young - WR - Rams The Rams have declined comment on rumors Titus Young will be released on Friday.
Detroit-based writer Rob Parker reported Friday morning Young will be waived on Friday, though both the Rams and Young's agent have declined comment. The fact that neither side opted to shoot down the report strongly suggests Young's time in St. Louis will last all of 10 days. If that's indeed the case, it's an extremely bad sign for the troubled receiver's NFL future.

If his film still looks good to the coaches Woodson is one of the few "old" players I would be happy with signing. That being said I don't expect him to be nor would I beat the table for the team to do so.
Brian Orakpo - LB - Redskins Redskins OLB Brian Orakpo (pectoral) resumed lifting weights before the end of the season, and feels "confident" he'll be healthy "well before" training camp.
Orakpo has had over four whole months to heal up, and should be 100 percent for camp and the preseason even though he's torn the same muscle twice in the past 14 months. Orakpo is going into the final year of his rookie deal, and CBS' Jason La Canfora expects the Redskins to make "every effort" to sign him long-term. Orakpo has 29.5 sacks in 49 career games.

Michael Johnson - DL - Bengals Free agent RE Michael Johnson hopes to re-sign with the Bengals. (One of my favorites, but most likely unaffordable and don't think he'd fit our scheme)
"Everything will work itself out and I’ll be in the best situation — hopefully that’s in Cincinnati," he said. "We’ve got a great group of young guys and I’m a part of that, and I look forward to continuing to be a part of that." Johnson is coming off a contract-year blowup for a career-high 11.5 sacks. That would normally price him out of the stingy Bengals' price range, but the consensus is that he'll be back in the Queen City, perhaps via the franchise tag.

Does anybody know the difference in the T Suggs achilles injury and the Fred Davis achilles injury?
Are they similar at all because the recovery seems a lot different. Is this what happens with no deer antler spray?![]()
Woodson isn't what the FO looks for in free agents. He's 10 years too old, 10 million too expensive and 10 injuries too many for us to sign him. 10 years ago? Yes. Now? No.

Yes, and I compared him to "the Freak" Jevon Kearse... He IS destroying in the NFL, just mostly under the radar.
11.5 sacks as a DE this year.
in 4 season, as a split time starter, he's racked up 23 sacks, 16 passes defended, 2 interceptions, 25 qb pressures.
At 6'7, 270, I'd bet he could do some damage in our 3-4.
I really question his motor though, as I did when he was coming out of college. He had the skills of a first rounder, but got taken in the 3rd mostly due to his motor. He's on and off. I'd love to have him as a 3rd down guy, but I think he may be looking for a pricey contract considering he was tops in the league in sacks... I just hope the Giants don't get him. MJ and JPP would be a nasty, young combination, or the Cowboys with Ware and MJ
