Ricky Jean-Francois - DL - 49ers A league source tells the Baltimore Sun that the Ravens have interest in free agent DL Ricky Jean-Francois.
The Ravens have publicly stated their desire to upgrade at defensive tackle, where they appear to have given up on Terrence Cody. The run-stuffing Jean-Francois would be a nice fit, but he's also been linked to the Packers, Eagles and others. The cap-strapped Ravens are unlikely to be the highest bidder. Related: Ravens

The 2 games where the offense struggled the most Panthers/Steelers were games without both Davis and Garcon.

Goes to show that the great "Steeler way" or "Patriot way" is a myth and that eventually all teams have to fight cap hell, unless you just don't spend (see Bengals, Bills and Bucs).

Cowboys are in a restructuring frenzy right now too... They've restructed/re-signed about 10 dudes today. Quickly getting cap relief from their $20 million over

About the only league he can play in. Sorry to rain any Mountaineer fans, but his spot is at 3rd string.

Well, no one can keep it perpetually going. At some point you are going to have some mediocre drafts and sign players to contracts that you shouldn't. Also, I think coaching staffs have a point where they are no longer as effective as they used to be. Too much institutionalized baggage.

Agreed. He's a good player and #2 WR. Why not restructure to bring his cap hit down this year and sign him to an extension, especially if it saves nothing on the cap this year if we outright released him.

Because that's not the relevent bit of info in a conversation about Morgan and Garcon.

Antonio Garay - DL - Chargers Per NFL.com, the Chargers are "heading toward" releasing NT Antonio Garay.
At this point, Garay's official release is just a formality. He's owed a $1.5M roster bonus and $3.5M in base salary for 2013. It's far too much for a part-time player that missed eight games last season and 14 in 2009. Garay will attract some interest as a 3-4 interior piece.

Especially since it just came out that Morgan played much of this season with messed up tendons in his hands that he had repaired recently.

Just kicking the can down the road though. Unless there is a big spike in the cap in a couple of years there are going to be a few teams in real trouble.

I agree with the idea that we should get him to extend. It lowers the projected need at outside WR, which helps us to go BPA in 2014 and beyond. Garcon, Morgan, and Hank form a pretty solid 1,2,3 on the outside. We do need another shifty inside receiver to fill in for Moss though, but allowing Morgan's contract to expire after this year, especially if Hank doesn't continue growing, would put us in a bind both inside and out.

There's supposed to be one in 2015 I think, but ultimately the Cowboys are about 2-3 years away from a total, complete, and utter rebuilding anyway. Ware and Witten are 30. Romo is 32. They have a large number of holes on both sides of the ball. Murray can't stay healthy. Spencer is about to escape into FA. Ratliff is 31.

Dez Bryant, Morris Claiborne, and Brandon Carr are probably the only players they can count on long term, and Bryant is always teetering on the edge of suspension and/or jailtime.
