haha my stance on Cason is new and not necessarily substantiated. Just like the young CB in FA route if we're going to dump Hall.

As for Minnefield, I remember the report saying he was having issues, but I thought he came out and said otherwise ... not the other way around? Either way, he'd be our 5th CB in any scenario.

"Do you know who I am?... I don't quite know how to put this, I'm kind of a big deal"

Not if they are trying to resign him before midnight. You got me all lathered up on Delmas, and that took some doing.
If he clears medically, and doesn't get resigned, his talent alone (when on the field) is one of the better FS in the league. He is a true defensive difference maker.

But now that he's pushing 34 and has lot a step speed wise -- yeah I don't think Santana gets 6 million in this market -- I'd guess he gets 3-4 mill.
There are offseason moves that don't make sense that happen all the time.
I guess we'll see what the market will bear.

People talk like Tana won't have suitors if he gets cut.
The team that gets Tana @ 3-4 mil, in the same market that Hartline and possibly Amendola get $6 mil, is getting a steal.

You don't think Tana coud plug into say Houston, Packers or the Pats and outplay Amendola/Hartline?

I hope he clears, but I hope he doesn't resign (obviously). Hopefully he sees that the Lions are not in the plans for the NFC North for what will likely be the rest of his career, barring something miraculous. We will have this division and be competative for the next five years plus. Come on down!

Hope the #Redskins don't release D-Hall. I always liked his passion. Still best corner Redskins have.
    I feel the same way.

But i also feel that our secondary cant get much worse than it was last season...so who knows.

I'm going to be back in town around 9 tonight but will be out in good old Arlington. Not sure how much monitoring I'll be able to do ... but will definitely be on twitter a few times checking in ... I wish there was a mobile app for this site! But I know too much will be going on in this thread to keep up with haha.

The free agency market seems while very welcoming to players in their mid to late 20s, perhaps OK with early 30s players, it seems antagonistic to players who are 34 especially ones that aren't at or near the top of their field. I like Santana but at this time in his career he isn't IMO one of the best Wrs in the NFL. And it seems that unless you are at or close to the top, you don't get big paydays at that age. Having said that, its just my theory, you got me how it goes down, we might see soon enough.

If I gather your point its that he can be the missing link to a contender, I can go along with that. I am just purely speculating at the market from a money stand point.

For a year, maybe. Whose to know. I would honestly have to call it a push. If Amendola was on the Packers, he'd get the #2 corner at best and he would eat that #2 corner for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. He'd probably get the #3 because James Jones came on strong.

But that money you put into Tana, you could've paid Amendola, and you'd have him for next year. So you could build actual schemes around him that you can use and implement in the future.

You never know .......If we have to cut Hall for cap reasons and struggle to replace him plus start a rookie say at FS with some growing pains ....

He was the "prized bull" of the 2010 "tender bowl" FA year. I remember that very well.

downgrade from Polumbus, old, revolving door player. I don't even consider him a camp body if true. At least Wiki has him listed as a Republican, and I'm cool with that.
